The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Pro Day Trends, Martavis Bryant, Edge-Rushers & More

Season 7, Episode 96 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora sits in once again for David Todd and we open things up by discussing the current situation with Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant, who is currently waiting for commissioner Roger Goodell to rule on his possible reinstatement.

The Steelers were spotted at several pro days this past so Alex and I recap a few of the colleges they were spotted at and that includes Tennessee as head coach Mike Tomlin and defensive coordinator Keith Butler were both spotted watching that annual event on Friday.

Alex talks about a Steelers trend related to pro days and first round draft picks that we go over and we try to remember whether or not general manager Kevin Colbert said that he attended the pro day of Ziggy Hood several years ago.

Since we last talked on Monday, I have posted a few more sack compilation videos of a few more edge-rushers in this year’s draft class. Alex and I give you our thoughts on T.J. Watt, Dawuane Smoot and Joe Mathis.

We spent the last part of this episode answering several questions we received from listeners on Twitter and also give a few shout outs to several of our listeners outside of the United States to wrap up the show.

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

Hey! I made the podcast too. Thanks for the shout out!

    Alex,

Was Charles Harris’ pro-day during the Phoenix meetings? If so, that could explain why Colbert and Tomlin were not present. I ask only because Harris’ repertoire of pass rush moves intrigues me, and I’m not sure he can be written off.

  • Alex Kozora

I think it was before but Colbert didn’t go to the meetings purposely so he could go to more Pro Days. So that theory doesn’t work, I don’t think. And to be clear, I’m not writing him off. Just pointing out the history.

Just wanted to say that I love you guys here at the Depot. I always enjoy reading, listening, and commenting here. This was an excellent podcast. I especially like that Dave and Alex clarify their likes and expectations as well as where they feel the Steelers are leaning in theirs. Great job gentlemen!

P.S. Dave, shame on you for not being able to find Iceland on a map, especially when you have fans there. Superbowls are nice, but if you have just one fan… that is a real trophy.
