  • Gerald Brown

All you size queens out there gonna love this pick lol

  • steelersfan

Thanks Dave TE Thomas for alerting me about this pick!!!!

  • SilverSteel

I am liking this pick. Nice size

  • James Cowan

We’re surely due a good 5th round pick – who was the last decent one?

  • newguy68

    Love this pick !!!

  • Jason

was the guy that Dave Thomas was talking about last week?

  • steelersfan

Yup! Said he was Ike Taylor 2.0 as I recall

  • capehouse

Gotta pick high ceiling, low floor defenders like him at this point. Get someone on the defensive line too, or is there a poor man’s Ryan Shazier out there?

  • Danielsteelstrong81

But he don’t have stone hands

  • steelersfan

Haha I hope not . If he’s the next Ike I’ll take it though

  • Danielsteelstrong81

Well I say this bcus on his tape he actually goes for the ball n picks it

  • Danielsteelstrong81

Glad he aint a smurf corner

  • mokhkw

I believe he also got the round correct as well.

For those who didn’t hear him on the podcast, he called Allen the next Ike Taylor. Here’s hoping!

  • Steeler4l1f3

Hell yeah! Super high ceiling with a top SPARQ score. Love it.

  • Man_of_Bats_81

A very strange looking individual. I will call him ghoul

  • Doogie

He looks good really. Nice length, tackling a bit raw. Id guess your looking at Ross’s replacement on the outside in 2 yrs. If this kid and Sutton work out, in two yrs they could have a top tier secondary. Maybe sooner.

  • Rocksolid20

Why Ike ? Does he have bad hands ?

  • Danielsteelstrong81

Dnt look like he have bad hands 4ints last yr that’s not ike taylor

  • Jonny Panic

He was a wideout so I hope not.

  • JT

Was in my contest mock solely because of Dave Te. And based on his glowing review, I’m thrilled.

Until he doesn’t make the team or practice squad like all our other late round DBs. Lol.

  • Carl Mendelius

The best and deepest draft of DBs in years and Colbert and Tomlin came up with Sutton? Pathetic to say the least. Twenty four, yes twenty four DBs were selected before the Steelers picked Sutton. This is what I call a total screw up.

  • lyke skywalker

    Size matters.

  • Jason

he was a WR for most of his time in football, no way you make it that long with stone hands

  • Jason

    Mike Webster maybe

  • William Weaver

  • William Weaver

Was a WR. Changed to defense for a reason. Lol

  • StarSpangledSteeler

    Carl –

Your evaluation is a bit “harsh,” but I can’t say it’s “untrue.”

I don’t mind passing on Kevin King in the 1st round. But you simply cannot pass on Fabian Moreau in round two. I don’t care id Ju-Ju is the next Anquan Bolden, you don’t have that luxury at this point.

  • Steve Johnson

I’m with you! Too often they have selected DB’s in the middle rounds only to cut or try and stash them on the practice squad. I get sick of listening to Colbert talk about drafting for depth; if that’s your mindset, that’s exactly what you will get. Look for players that can start or come in day 1 and contribute and compete for a starting position. If this kid (Allen) can make the 53 along with Sutton, I have nothing but praise for Colbert. But if both of them end up getting cut, I will forever continue to condemn Colbert/Tomlin and the Scouting Department for the inability to evaluate DB’s.

  • SteelPierogie

    Well said, I agree

  • Brenton deed

Is he the guy to cover fast TEs?

  • LucasY59

he is the biggest DB they have

  • LucasY59

I was not impressed either, picking JuJu was way too much of a luxury IMO
