The Pittsburgh Steelers will hold their annual rookie minicamp this coming weekend and ahead of that happening they continue to get more of their 2017 draft picks signed to contracts.
On Thursday, the Steelers announced the signing of their sixth-round selection, long snapper Colin Holba, who played his college football at Louisville.
Holba’s four-year contract is expected to total out at around $2,529,328 and include a signing bonus of roughly $129,328 according to Over the Cap.
Holba, who joined Louisville as a walk-on after a try-out in 2013, was ultimately awarded a scholarship in August of 2015 before serving the last two seasons as the starting long snapper. He reportedly appeared in 26 games and had over 250 plays without an errant snap.
The Steelers new long snapper will now attempt to unseat veteran Greg Warren at the position. Warren has been with the team since 2005 after beating out Mike Schneck for the job as an undrafted free agent.
Prior to signing Holba, the Steelers had already came to terms with two of their other eight 2017 draft picks and they were fifth-round selection, cornerback Brian Allen, and seventh-round selection, outside linebacker Keion Adams.
