Steelers Sign Third-Round RB James Conner

Thursday was a busy day for the Pittsburgh Steelers when it comes to them signing draft picks to contracts.

Just hours after it was announced that sixth-round selection, long snapper Colin Holba, had signed his rookie contract, the team announced the signing of their second of two third-round selections, running back James Conner.

Conner’s four-year contract is expected to total out at around $3,106,288 and include a signing bonus of roughly $706,284 according to Over the Cap.

Conner, who played his college football at Pittsburgh, is now the fourth draft pick the Steelers have signed. The team had previously signed Holba in addition to fifth-round selection cornerback Brian Allen and seventh-round selection, outside linebacker Keion Adams.

The Steelers will likely sign a few more of their draft picks on Friday and ahead of the team’s annual rookie minicamp that will run through the weekend. The remaining unsigned draft picks are outside linebacker T.J. Watt, wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, cornerback Cameron Sutton and quarterback Joshua Dobbs.
