The Terrible Podcast – Talking More Steelers 2017 Draft Class, Recent Cuts, AFC North Teams & More

Season 7, Episode 109 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and continue talking a little more about the Pittsburgh Steelers 2017 draft class now that we’ve had some more time to study a few of their earlier selections more in-depth.

We go over when we think a few of the drafted players might start contributing to the team during the 2017 season and if one of them might even be able to supplant wide receiver Antonio Brown as the team’s punt returner.

We move on to discuss David’s recent interview with Tennessee defensive coordinator Bob Shoop that took place on his show.

The Steelers waived quarterback Zach Mettenberger earlier in the week and that wasn’t a huge surprise all things considered. David and I talk briefly about if he’ll ever play a NFL snap again moving forward.

David and I had yet to talk extensively about who the other three AFC North teams drafted over the weekend so we make sure to cover that topic during Friday’s show.

We close this episode by talking about the two players the Steelers waived on Friday.

As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.

Joe Gilliam could throw the football better than Bradshaw. Much better. In fact it wasn’t even close. Look at the number of passes Gilliam threw in 74 9 games 212 Bradshaw 8 games 148. As a matter of fact Bradshaw admitted Gilliam had more arm talent. Gilliam had a nose candy problem. That the only reason Gilliam wasn’t the QB.

    Dave –

I have been following for your blog site for years now, and i must tell you, I’m very impressed with the research you put into our Steelers players. This isn’t just an opinion forum for you. You actually dig up film, break it down, and look for details (strengths and flaws), so when you form an opinion or make an analysis there is generally some good support behind it. And Alex is following in your footsteps nicely as well.

I envision a scenario where one day we can get more inside information/video/analysis from all the listeners who live in the cities where these college kids play and add that to the mix. I’m working on my connections right now with Univ. of Utah for info on Brian Allen. I’ll let you know what I find.
