Steelers 2017 Training Camp: 15th Practice Live Blog And Highlights – Thursday 8/17

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be back on the fields of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe Thursday afternoon for their fifteenth training camp practice of 2017. The team will have just one more practice after today prior to closing out camp on Friday. Our very own Alex Kozora will once again be in attendance for the public practice. As usual, throughout the day I will live blog his tweets along with all of the other great tweets and social media posts from other sources that are posted. Just a reminder that you might want to refresh this page often and look for Alex’s full recap of Thursday’s practice later on in the evening. Additionally, look for our daily post-practice recap podcast much later in the evening as we’ll be talking about what Alex observed earlier in the day.

Happy Thursday, yinz. Two more practices remaining at Latrobe. Really looking forward to the Sunday game.

    Still no Keion Adams? Geez.
    Any word on Sutton?

Seems like Cockrell isn’t hanging well with bryant or brown

    Hope Finney is ok!

  • SilverSteel

Burns has really stepped it up. Cockrell seems a little slower of foot but such good analytical skills. I’ll take it. Brown and Bryant may be the best duo in the league. I can’t fault him but he does need to amp up his play for the late season run we will need.

  • SilverSteel

I was really hoping Adams would challenge Moates. That is slipping away now. ☹️

Atlanta. Ton of good big receiver/TE targets. Want to see our coverages.

  • KiJana Haney

True but it seems like he isn’t quick enough to stick with brown and can’t stay with a height/speed guy like bryant. I think that bryant will be the comeback player of the year. I do not think anyone is able to guard bryant this season but still cockrell has to be able to do more than just guard big receivers. Who will he guard for new england if hogan isn’t on the field? I see some issue with this long term. Wouldn’t be surprised if we draft another cb in the first two rounds for a bigger corner back.

  • John Noh

Hopefully he’ll merit a practice squad slot.

I’m not even mad at Moats if he makes it! Stand up guy, with great attitude and always upbeat! Love the guy! I did want to get a good look at Adams and Sutton tho. Hate they’re not practicing.

Alex does Ayers have any shot to make the roster? Can you give me your overall view of him as a player at this point and if you would consider him a guy who has a future on this team?

  • SkoolHouseRoxx

Key to Success: Beat Villy in practice.

  • SilverSteel

I think Bryant might be even tougher. He’s faster and stronger than any of our DBs. But if Burns and Cockrell can handle them in practice, I would feel really good about our season. I would like to see how Burns does with Bryant. Let Cockrell get a few weeks on AB. Develop his quickness.

  • KiJana Haney

I disagree I believe AB vs Burns gets them both to better. AB has it too easy against cockrell. I hope cockrell can figure out bryant so during the season Burns can follow the smaller receiver and cockrell will taker the bigger receiver. Lets see how they do against julio
