Steelers Chargers Week 4 Thursday Practice Injury Report – Parker Sits Again

On Thursday for the Steelers, running back Willie Parker (toe), tight end David Johnson (ankle) and safety Troy Polamalu (knee) did not practice for the second straight day. Johnson and Polamalu were not expected to practice, but some concern is creeping in with regards to Parker who is battling turf toe. Parker hopes to practice Friday to be ready for Sunday night. Cornerback Keiwan Ratliff (illness) was added to the injury report on Thursday after missing practice with an illness. Center Justin Hartwig (ankle) practiced fully after sitting out on Wednesday and tight end Matt Spaeth (hip) practice fully for the second straight day. Wide receiver Hines Ward (not injury related) also practiced fully on Thursday after having his normal Wednesday off.

Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson (ankle) and guard Louis Vasquez (knee) both practiced fully for the second straight day on Thursday. Linebacker Shawne Merriman (groin) was limited on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. Linebacker Antwan Applewhite (hamstring) and defensive end Travis Johnson (groin) did not practice for a second straight day and punter Mike Scifres (groin) was limited again Thursday. Center Nick Hardwick (ankle) sat again and has already been ruled out for Sunday night. Cornerback Antoine Cason (groin) was also limited after straining his groin on Wednesday and added to the injury report.
