Opening Statement: So much has happened since the final 2009 season game against Miami and the start of the season must be a welcome sight for the Steelers players and coaches. The preseason was a bit of a blur and was overall a success until quarterback Byron Leftwich went down with a MCL injury in the final game against Carolina. The Steelers announced their 2010 training camp schedule today. The team will report to training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe on July 30th and will hold their first practice on July 31st. All afternoon practices are open and begin at 2:55 p.m. The only night practice will take place August 6th at Latrobe Memorial Stadium. The team breaks camp on August 20th. The NFL released the full schedule of (OTA's) Organized Team Activities and mini-camp dates for the 2010 season on Wednesday.  The Steelers will continue their own OTA's on May 18th through the 20th with a mini-camp running this weekend. The Steelers will play one nationally televised preseason game and will host the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers at Heinz Field during the 2010 preseason, the team announced Wednesday. The Steelers will open the 2010 preseason at home against the Detroit Lions the weekend of Aug. 13-15. Below are the opponents on the Steelers 2010 schedule. The Steelers of course will play all 3 teams in the AFC North twice. They will play all 4 teams in the AFC East and all 4 teams in the NFC South.
