Despite being the Steelers top interior swing offensive lineman for several years, Legursky's play at the guard position

During the 2013 NFL Draft, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive backs coach Carnell Lake said that while cornerback William Gay could play some safety in case of emergency; it's not something that he really envisions happening, as the Louisville product just isn't built for the position.
"In the past William has played some safety," said Lake back in April. "He’s rotated back there based on some concepts that we were working. My first year with him and even in years past when he was here, he could play safety. I’m not counting on him being a down in and down out safety. He’s not built for a safety

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Monday during his press conference that he hasn't put nose tackle Steve McLendon in a box as it relates to the former undrafted player saying last week that he wants to be an every-down player in his first season as a starter.
However, If Tomlin was going to try to put McLendon in a box this season, it appears as though he would need a smaller one this year compared to last year as Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh-Tribune-Review reports that McLendon said on Tuesday, he now weighs 320 pounds, which is 15 pounds lighter than the 335 pounds he weighed

Injuries really have taken their toll on the Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of the last two seasons, and team president Art Rooney II has taken notice of it.
“It does happen sort of in cycles, and hopefully we’re getting through this cycle," said Rooney back in January. "But having said that I don’t think we can just sit here and believe we’ll come to the end of the cycle. We have to look at everything we’re doing, and we will look at everything we’re doing, from the training and conditioning side of things, from a practice side of things and see if there are things we can do

Although Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones played in a 3-4 defense while at Georgia, veteran inside linebacker Larry Foote said on Wednesday after practice that it will be tough for him to overtake fourth-year linebacker Jason Worilds as the starter outside right away.
“It's going to be difficult (for Jones to start immediately), especially outside,” Foote said, via a report by Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “There is so much technique, (knowing) where you've got to line up, inside or outside. The fortunate thing is they (Jones' Georgia) played a 3-4.

As discussed here previously, it is safe to say that the Pittsburgh Steelers currently have a dearth of leadership on offense that stems from championship success. Aside from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, only tight ends Heath Miller and Matt Spaeth can boast a Super Bowl ring in the offensive huddle.
A champion’s leadership had seemingly been a staple of the Steelers locker room for the better part of the past decade, with younger players speaking frequently in interviews of how the older players would flash their rings in the faces, figuratively or literally, of the less

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor was playing some of the best football of his career before his season ended on a broken ankle against the Baltimore Ravens on December 4th. While he was not picking off passes in bunches, Taylor continued quietly in his staple role with the Steelers as defender of the marquee receiver. No matter whom the receiver, Taylor shadowed him and was largely responsible for the outstanding performance of the pass defense.
A season before in Denver, there were many question surrounding Taylor’s ability to effectively man the responsibilities

"Well you know; bad people come out late at night," said Foote, who claims the only time he goes out late at night these days is to get a gallon of milk. "I mean that's just the rules of the game and the guys just got to be aware of that."
Foote, however, was once
