The Pittsburgh Steelers were back indoors on their practice field Wednesday as they started preparations for their season finale this Sunday at Heinz Field against the Cleveland Browns.
The first injury report of the week is now out and it shows that cornerback Curtis Brown (ankle), cornerback Keenan Lewis (knee), wide receiver Mike Wallace (hip) and safety Troy Polamalu (not injury related) all sat out practice on Wednesday.
Practicing on a limited basis was tackle Mike Adams (ankle). The Steelers rookie has not played since going down in the Week 12 loss to the Browns.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller dropped by to visit team on Wednesday and it was reported that he would have surgery on Thursday to repair the damage done to his ACL, MCL and PCL late in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday.
Miller, who was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, caught 71 passes this season for 816 yards and 8 touchdowns. He moved the chains 44 times with receptions and his yardage and touchdown totals were career highs for him. Miller needed just 6 more catches to set a new career high in receptions.

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few expected roster moves on Wednesday as tight end Heath Miller, cornerback Ike Taylor and running back Baron Batch were all placed on injured reserve and tight end Jamie McCoy, safety Damon Cromartie-Smith and linebacker Marshall McFadden were all signed to the 53 man roster to replace them.
In addition to those moves the Steelers signed cornerback Walter McFadden and wide receiver Bert Reed to their practice squad to fill the spots that were opened up due to the promotion of Cromartie-Smith and McFadden.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media on Monday to talk about the loss on Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals as well as the upcoming season finale against the Cleveland Browns.
Tomlin gave an update of the injuries suffered in the game sand said running back Baron Batch (arm) suffered an arm fracture and that he had surgery to repair it Monday morning. He will be moved to injured reserve this week.
Tight end Heath Miller suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee and Tomlin indicated that he might have hit the trifecta with a PCL tear as well. Tomlin did not want to speculate

The Pittsburgh Steelers 2012 season came to an abrupt halt on Sunday thanks to their 13-10 loss Sunday at Heinz Field to the Cincinnati Bengals. The team suffered more injuries in the loss and head coach Mike Tomlin addressed those injuries in his post game press conference.
Tomlin announced that running back Baron Batch (arm) suffered a broken arm and that tight end Heath Miller (knee) suffered a PCL and MCL injury. Both will undoubtedly be placed on injured reserve for the final week of the season.

The Cincinnati Bengals have wrapped up their practice preparations for the Sunday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field and their final injury report shows a few new additions.
Cornerback Adam Jones (hamstring), linebacker Vontaze Burfict (illness), and long snapper Clark Harris (not injury related) were all added to the injury report on Friday. Jones is listed as questionable after being limited during the final practice of the week with a hamstring injury. Burfict and Harris are both listed as probable and are expected to play despite sitting out the Friday session.

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke will undergo surgery next Wednesday on his injured right shoulder.
Van Dyke, who was claimed off of waivers from the Oakland Raiders just prior to the start of the season, suffered a shoulder separation while attempting to make a tackle on Dallas Cowboys return man Dwayne Harris while covering the Steelers first punt of the game this past Sunday. He was placed on injured reserve this past week.
Van Dyke recorded 3 total tackles on special teams this season in the 9 games that he played in. He was benched in the middle of the season for 5 out

The Pittsburgh Steelers have wrapped up their Friday practice in preparation for their game Sunday at Heinz Field against the Cincinnati Bengals and the final injury report is now out.
The big name on the list remains cornerback Keenan Lewis (hip), who was listed on the injury report as probable despite only being able to work on a limited basis Friday. Lewis was limited on Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday so you can see where there is still some concern involved with him. The Cincinnati Bengals remain a very healthy team as they head into their game this Sunday at Heinz Field against the Pittsburgh Steelers and their Thursday injury report reflects it.
Cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (head) was unable to practice on Thursday after practicing fully on Wednesday and the word is that he suffered a setback with his concussion that forced him to miss the last two games. Right now he is not expected to play Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Keenan Lewis was listed on the Wednesday injury report as being limited because of the hip injury that re-aggravated Sunday in the loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but it appears that he might have also hurt his knee during the Wednesday practice as well.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Wednesday afternoon on Twitter that Lewis injured his knee after stepping in a hole on the practice field. The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing to play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field on Sunday and their first injury report of the week is now out.
Not practicing on Wednesday was defensive end Carlos Dunlap (illness), who sat out sick. Dunlap has 33 combined tackles on the season with 4.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles to his credit. He is expected to be ready by Sunday.
Limited on Wednesday were kicker Mike Nugent (right calf), running back Cedric Peerman (ankle), and tackle Andrew Whitworth (head). Nugent has missed the last two games and the speculation is that he will sit out again on Sunday.

As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Tuesday that guard Willie Colon has been put on injured reserve with a knee injury to make room for running back Rashard Mendenhall, who was reinstated by the team on Monday following his one week suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
This marks the third season in a row that Colon has been placed on injured reserve. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media on Tuesday for his weekly press conference to talk about the loss on Sunday to the Dallas Cowboys and the upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
During his press conference Tomlin updated the current injury status of the team heading into this week of practice. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders told Ken Laird of Trib Live Radio after the 27-24 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday that he suffered a cracked rib in the game, but hopes to be ready by next Sunday when the Cincinnati Bengals come to town.
"I’ve just got a cracked rib, said Sanders. "Those things should heal fast, so hopefully I’ll be back next week."

The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their seventh game of the season Sunday to the Dallas Cowboys and are now in a must-win situation as they head into their final two games of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have issues in their secondary heading into their game Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, but so too do the Cowboys as starting rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne might be forced to sit out the game after suffering a setback with his concussion that he incurred last Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com reports on Saturday that the Cowboys were still evaluating Claiborne's status for Sunday's game against the Steelers after the rookie had to leave practice on Thursday after suffering some dizziness.

The Dallas Cowboys have put a wraps on their Friday practice as they prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and their final injury report of the week is now out.
Defensive tackle Jay Ratliff (groin) is the only player that has been ruled out for the game after he underwent surgery for a sports hernia on Thursday.
Linebacker DeMarcus Ware (elbow) failed to practice for a third consecutive day because of a hyper-extended elbow and he enters the weekend listed as questionable. Ware is expected to play Sunday and wear a brace.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up their practice preparations on Friday for their Sunday road game against the Dallas Cowboys and the Friday injury report is now out.
Pretty much as expected, cornerback Cortez Allen (groin) did not practice on Friday and he was listed as doubtful as a result. Allen injured his groin last week in the loss to the San Diego Chargers and is expected to be one of the seven inactive players on Sunday.
