Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer posted today on Twitter that he is in his last week of rehab, presumably for his broken left foot that he suffered late in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 13. The foot required surgery and Dwyer was placed on injured reserve in the early part of December as a result. When he finishes up his rehab he will be off to his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia for the offseason according to his Twitter feed. Report: Casey Hampton Will Have ACL Surgery Friday

How quickly things change. Gerry Dulac reports that Pittsburgh Steelers nose tackle Casey Hampton said today that he will have surgery on Friday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Hampton injured the knee early in the Steelers AFC Wild Card game against the Denver Broncos and all of the early reports suggested that Hampton would not need surgery. Another injury note I forgot to pass along today, but according to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel this morning on DVE, he will not need surgery on his injured groin that forced him out of the AFC Wildcard game early against the Denver Broncos. Keisel told DVE when asked about his injury, "I'm healing up good, I'm healing up good. As of right now I am not going to need surgery, so that's a great thing and you know just back on the rehab wagon and get going." A report this evening on NFL.com says that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger told the media that his injured left ankle is still a little swollen, but not swollen enough to force him to sit out the 2012 Pro Bowl game this coming Sunday in Hawaii. Marcus Gilbert To Have Shoulder Surgery Wednesday

Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert announced today on Twitter that he will undergo shoulder surgery Wednesday morning. Gilbert noted that he had been playing with the injury all season. It is unclear which shoulder Gilbert will need to get fixed at this time. Gilbert was the Steelers second-round pick out of Florida in the 2011 NFL draft and started 12 regular season games this past season at right tackle after starter Willie Colon went down week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens with a triceps injury. Ed Bouchette reported today on 93.7 The Fan that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has had his surgery now on the torn ACL in his right knee. Mendenhall injured the knee on the final play of the first quarter in the week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland on a 5 yard run to the right side. Reportedly they were waiting on the swelling to go down on the knee before Mendenhall had his surgery, as expected. Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Max Starks announced via Twitter today that he will be having surgery next week presumably to repair a torn ACL in his right knee. Starks injured the knee late in the first half against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Wild Card game last week in Denver and was replaced the rest of the game by Jonathan Scott. Starks was re-signed by the Steelers after the week 4 loss to the Houston Texans and started the very next week against the Tennessee Titans. Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey had surgery on his injured left ankle on Thursday and is currently in a cast presumably for the next several weeks. You can see the casted left ankle in the picture below as he signs his limited edition 2012 Pro Bowl shirts. Pouncey says he will be ready for training camp in Latrobe according to his Twitter feed. Scott Brown reports this afternoon that Pittsburgh Steelers nose tackle Casey Hampton is not scheduled to undergo surgery in the near future to repair the ACL he injured Sunday against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Wild Card game. Hampton only played 2 defensive plays in the game before suffering the injury and did not return to the game. brown reports that Hampton will try to work his way back from an ACL injury with a combination of rest and treatment. Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey is having surgery today presumably on his injured left ankle and as a result will likely have to bypass the Pro Bowl. Pouncey started 14 games for Steelers this past season, but he re-injured the same left ankle against the Cleveland Browns in week 13 that forced him to sit out the Super Bowl last February. The aggravation prevented him from playing in week 14 and week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams, but he returned to play in the final regular season game against the Browns. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his final press conference of the 2011 season on Monday to talk about the loss to the Denver Broncos yesterday and the season as a whole. Tomlin said the team suffered three significant injuries yesterday in the loss as left tackle Max Starks suffered an ACL knee injury of some sorts as did nose tackle Casey Hampton. The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up practice preparations on Friday for their AFC wild card on Sunday against the Denver Broncos and the Friday injury report has some expected bad news as center Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) did not practice for a second straight day due to aggravating his injured left ankle during practice on Wednesday. Pouncey is listed as questionable this week, but Gerry Dulac reported earlier today that he will not play Sunday. Pouncey injured the ankle Pouncey in the home win against the Cleveland Browns in week 14 Browns and missed the next two games as a result. Kaboly reports that Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said today that he is concerned that Pouncey won't be able to play Sunday because he felt sore after the practice on Wednesday.
