Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller dropped by to visit team on Wednesday and it was reported that he would have surgery on Thursday to repair the damage done to his ACL, MCL and PCL late in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday. Miller, who was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, caught 71 passes this season for 816 yards and 8 touchdowns. The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few expected roster moves on Wednesday as tight end Heath Miller, cornerback Ike Taylor and running back Baron Batch were all placed on injured reserve and tight end Jamie McCoy, safety Damon Cromartie-Smith and linebacker Marshall McFadden were all signed to the 53 man roster to replace them. As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Tuesday that guard Willie Colon has been put on injured reserve with a knee injury to make room for running back Rashard Mendenhall, who was reinstated by the team on Monday following his one week suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
