The Thursday injury report for the Dallas Cowboys is now out as they continue to prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Defensive tackle Jay Ratliff (groin) underwent surgery for a sports hernia on Thursday in Philadelphia, and will most likely be placed on injured reserve by Sunday. He is out this week regardless.
Linebacker DeMarcus Ware (elbow) failed to practice for a second consecutive day because of a hyper-extended elbow. He is expected to play Sunday and will wear a brace.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field on Thursday as they continued their practice preparations for their upcoming Sunday road game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Thursday injury report is now out and it shows that cornerback Cortez Allen (groin) failed to practice for a second consecutive day which puts his availability right now for Sunday in serious question. Should Allen not be able to practice on Friday he will undoubtedly be ruled out on the final injury repot of the week. The mystery as to whether or not Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers appears to be no more as Ed Werder of ESPN Dallas is reporting on Thursday that Bryant has informed the team that he intends to delay the operation on his fractured left index finger suffered in the Cowboys win last week over the Cincinnati Bengals after meeting with a hand specialist on Wednesday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are once again going to be without the services of cornerback Ike Taylor on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys as he will miss his second consecutive game with a fractured right ankle suffered early in the win against the Baltimore Ravens back in Week 13.
Taylor was asked on Wednesday how the rehab is going.

The first injury report of the week for the Dallas Cowboys is out as the prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday.
Wide receiver Dez Bryant (finger) missed practice to get another opinion on his broken left index finger. Currently his status for Sunday is up in the air, but several believe that he will play and put of surgery.

The Pittsburgh Steelers started their practice preparations on Wednesday for their Sunday road game against the Dallas Cowboys and the first injury report is now out.
As expected, cornerback Ike Taylor (ankle), tackle Mike Adams (ankle), and guard Willie Colon (knee) did not practice and all three have already been ruled out for the game. With Colon out, Ramon Foster will shift over to left guard and rookie David DeCastro will make his first career start at right guard.

The status of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant for the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is still up in the air after he fractured his left index finger last week against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Tuesday that Bryant will be the "ultimate decision-maker" on whether he has season-ending surgery on his finger or tries to play with it heavily padded, which could result in long term damage if not fixed immediately.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media on Tuesday for his weekly press conference to talk about the loss last Sunday to the San Diego Chargers and the upcoming game this week against the Dallas Cowboys.
Tomlin gave an injury report in the early part of the press conference and said left guard Willie Colon (knee) had surgery on his left knee on Monday and will be out for several weeks. He added that they will let a day or two go by before they look at the totality of the situation with him and whether or not they will need to place him on injured reserve.

The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Dallas on Sunday to play the Dallas Cowboys, who now appear like they might be without their star wide receiver Dez Bryant.
David Moore of the Dallas Morning News is reporting Monday afternoon that Bryant injured his left index finger Sunday in the Cowboys win over the Cincinnati Bengals and that injury might require him being shut down for the season. Bryant reportedly is scheduled to visit a hand specialist this week.
This is of course a huge blow to the Cowboys and a big break for the Steelers, who will once again be without the services of cornerback

Last night Gerry Dulac reported that left guard Willie Colon might be done for the season after suffering a left knee injury during the second quarter of the loss Sunday to the San Diego Chargers and on Wednesday Jory Rand of KDKA-TV reports via Twitter that Colon is having surgery on Monday.

Pittsburgh Steelers left guard Willie Colon left the game Sunday against the San Diego Chargers with a left knee injury and did not return.
Head coach Mike Tomlin didn't elaborate about the injury during his post game press conference but Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports via Twitter that the Steelers do not expect Colon to play the rest of the season.
Colon sat out the last two games leading up to Sunday with a bruised knee suffered in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens back in week 11 and it has needed draining more than once since that time.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media following the 34-24 loss Sunday at Heinz Field to the San Diego Chargers and during his press conference he gave a quick recap of the injuries suffered in the game.
Left guard Willie Colon (knee) reaggravated his left knee injury that he suffered several weeks ago and was unable to return to the game. Although Colon did dress for the last two games, he did not play and he admitted last week that the knee had to be drained a couple of times.

The San Diego Chargers have completed their Friday practice session as they now prepare to fly to Pittsburgh to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field and their final injury report of the week has now been released to the media.
Linebacker Donald Butler (groin), tackle Jeromey Clary (knee), and wide receiver Eddie Royal (hamstring) are all listed as out after not practicing the entire week.
Guard Tyronne Green (hamstring) also failed to practice the entire week and is listed as doubtful while tackle Mike Harris (ankle) is listed as questionable after he also failed to practice

The Pittsburgh Steelers have put the wraps on their Friday practice as they prepare to host the San Diego Chargers Sunday at Heinz Field and the final injury report of the week is now out.
Not practicing again on Friday was linebacker LaMarr Woodley (ankle) and he has been officially been ruled out for the game Sunday along with tackle Mike Adams (ankle) and cornerback Ike Taylor (ankle).
With Woodley out Jason Worilds will make his second consecutive start at left outside linebacker. Cornerback Cortez Allen will make is first career start in place Taylor opposite Keenan Lewis in the Steelers

The San Diego Chargers continued their practice preparations on Thursday for their Sunday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field and their second injury report of the week had only one minor change on it.
The Chargers decimated offensive line remains decimated as tackle Jeromey Clary (knee), guard Tyronne Green (hamstring), and tackle Mike Harris (ankle) all sat out again on Thursday and all three will most likely miss the game Sunday.
Also not practicing for a second consecutive day for the Chargers were linebacker Donald Butler (groin), and wide receiver Eddie Royal (hamstring).

Pittsburgh Steelers left guard Willie Colon has been active for the last two games but he didn't play in either of them. He hopes to play this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, but currently considers himself a game-time decision after practicing fully on Thursday.
The Friday prior to the game against the Cleveland Browns Colon showed up on the injury report as probable with a knee injury after practicing on a limited basis that day and it was thought that he had injured it in practice.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told Teresa Varley of steelers.com on Thursday that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will start Sunday against the San Diego Chargers at Heinz Field after missing the last three games with a shoulder and rib injury.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Twitter, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu told the media on Thursday that the calf injury that sidelined for 7 games was to a different muscle than the one that he suffered in the season opener against the Denver Broncos the first game of the season.

It has been over a week now since the Pittsburgh Steelers placed second-year tackle Marcus Gilbert on injured reserve with an ankle injury and head coach Mike Tomlin said at that time that surgery was an option.
According to Gilbert on Twitter, that surgery has now taken place and his rehab is presumably now underway.
Gilbert injured the tendon in his right ankle way back in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans and was flown to North Carolina to have a specialist look at it. At that time it was deemed that the Florida product didn't need surgery so the Steelers gave him several weeks to see
