The Thursday injury report of the week for the Washington Redskins is now out as they prepare to play the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field.
Things are not looking good for linebacker London Fletcher (hamstring, head) as he was forced to sit out practice again on Thursday. The Redskins linebacker has played in 231 straight games. But his streak appears to now be in serious jeopardy after he suffered a hamstring injury last Sunday

The first injury report of the week for the Washington Redskins is out as they prepare to play the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field.
Linebacker London Fletcher (hamstring, head) and wide receiver Pierre Garcon (foot) both sat out Wednesday as expected. Fletcher suffered a hamstring injury during the loss to the New York Giants and is also was experiencing some problems with his balance. Garcon is very unlikely to play Sunday and head coach Mike Shanahan said he didn’t know when the receiver might return to the lineup.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field Wednesday as they get ready to play the Washington Redskins Sunday at Heinz Field.
The first injury report for the week is now out and it shows that safety Troy Polamalu (calf), tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle), running back Rashard Mendenhall (achilles), running back Isaac Redman (ankle), linebacker Jason Worilds (illness), and running back Jonathan Dwyer (not injury related) all failed to participate on Wednesday.
Practicing fully on Wednesday were center Maurkice Pouncey (knee) and linebacker Chris Carter (hamstring).

Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey appears set to return to the lineup Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Pouncey told Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review on Wednesday that he will absolutely be back after sitting out the Sunday game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“I am pretty sure … I am playing," Pouncey said. "Most definitely."
Pouncey was forced to sit out Sunday night due to a an MCL injury that he suffered on the first offensive play against the Tennessee Titans in Week 6 when right tackle Marcus Gilbert rolled up onto the back of his leg.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media today to talk about the game against the Cincinnati Bengals and the upcoming game against the Washington Redskins. The coach gave an injury report update during the first part of the press conference.
Safety Troy Polamalu (calf) and tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) will both be out again this week. Safety Will Allen (ankle) might be limited in the first part of the week, but Tomlin expects him to play Sunday. Also expected to be back this week is center Maurkice Pouncey (knee).

The Pittsburgh Steelers came out of the Sunday night win over the Cincinnati Bengals without any new injuries that are considered serious and that is good news based on how many starters were down heading into the game.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said during his post game press conference that reserve linebacker Adrian Robinson (concussion) was being evaluated for a concussion that he suffered late in the second half and that safety Will Allen (ankle) rolled an ankle during the game as well. Tomlin did not give any indication that either injury was serious.

The Friday practice injury report for the Cincinnati Bengals is now in as they get ready to host the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night.
Running back Brian Leonard (ribs) failed to practice once again on Friday and has been listed as doubtful on the Friday injury report.
Both wide receiver Armon Binns (ankle) and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) were listed as questionable on Friday. Binns was limited on Friday after sitting out on Thursday, while Kirkpatrick practiced fully once again.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up their final practice of the week on Friday in preparation for their Sunday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals and the final injury report of the week is now out.
Running backs Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) and Isaac Redman (ankle) both failed to work this week in practice and both will not play Sunday night as both have been ruled out.
With both running backs out for the game, Jonathan Dwyer will make his first career start in their absence. Dwyer has been inactive for the last two games and will be backed up by Baron Batch and Chris Rainey.

Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Thursday on Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will do individual drills today in practice to test the right knee that he injured on the first offensive play in the loss to the Tennessee Titans last week. Pouncey said that he will be able to tell a lot from today's workout.

Running back Brian Leonard (ribs) and linebacker Dontay Moch (not injury related) did not practice on Wednesday. There is still a chance that Leonard will play Sunday night if he can practice by Friday. On Wednesday Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey told the media that right tackle Marcus Gilbert could be out for an extended period time as he recovers from a tendon injury suffered in the loss to the Tennessee Titans this past Thursday, but Gilbert has now chimed in to say that he will not be out that long.
"He's going to miss a significant amount of time, maybe up to six weeks, said Pouncey. "I don't think it's season ending, but we've got to give him time to heal and get his body right."

Mike Bires of the Beaver County Times reported Wednesday on Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey told him the ankle injury that right tackle Marcus Gilbert suffered in the game against the Tennessee Titans last Thursday may keep him out as for as many as six weeks.

During his Tuesday press conference Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked to give a status update on rookie guard David DeCastro, who suffered a serious right knee injury in the third preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.

We noted on Monday that Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert was on a plane headed somewhere and it appears his destination was North Carolina to see a doctor for his right lower leg injury. Gilbert revealed that information on his Twitter account Monday afternoon and noted that he was headed back to Pittsburgh after that visit.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall strained his Achilles Thursday night in the loss to the Tennessee Titans, but he said Monday after practice that he plans on being ready Sunday night when the team faces the Cincinnati Bengals.
