Roethlisberger Exposes Feet To Wife On Hawaii Golf Course

While out in Hawaii for the 2012 Pro Bowl, it appears that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger got in a round of golf on Tuesday with his wife Ashley Harlan serving as chief photographer and wearer of black sun dress. The left ankle that Roethlisberger injured against the Cleveland Browns seems to be doing just fine as you can plainly see that he his not wearing an ankle brace or even shoes for matter. At least he did not leave spike marks on the green and there is no confirmation if he got his balls washed during the round either. It does appear he was the designated golf cart driver Read more [...]

Nike will become the official uniform provider for the NFL in 2012 as they take over for Reebok and today you can get a glimpse of the new Nike Vapor Jet gloves during the 2012 Pro Bowl. Nike made the announcement on their Facebook page a few days ago and you can see the Steelers version of the new Nike gloves below that Steelers players Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown and Ryan Clark figure to be wearing today. You may even see linebacker James Harrison wearing them as well, but one thing you will not see from Harrison today is tweets on Twitter. Harrison finds the double standards appalling and tweeted Read more [...]

Maurkice Pouncey In Cast After Surgery, Will Be Ready For Training Camp

Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey had surgery on his injured left ankle on Thursday and is currently in a cast presumably for the next several weeks. You can see the casted left ankle in the picture below as he signs his limited edition 2012 Pro Bowl shirts. Pouncey says he will be ready for training camp in Latrobe according to his Twitter feed. Pouncey originally injured the ankle in the 2010 AFC Championship game against the New York Jets and it sidelined him for the Super Bowl against the Green Bay Packers as a result. James Harrison Destroys Knees Legally Per Request Of Roger Goodell

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wants defensive players to start legally destroying knees of offensive players and Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison is now complying with what the commissioner wants. Harrison must have seen the recent seven-minute video that is narrated by NFL Vice President of Officiating Carl Johnson that instructs defensive players to lower their target in an attempt to prevent head injuries, as he hit Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker right on the side of his left knee following a reception by Decker on the first play of the second quarter. Decker caught Read more [...]

Breakdown Of James Harrison Abusing Adam Goldberg For Near Sack

Although the play did not end in a sack, it was fun to watch Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison almost get a sack of Rams quarterback Kellen Clemens by using left tackle Adam Goldberg to do it with. Below is the breakdown of the play in pictures that shows just how strong Harrison is. Remember that Goldberg goes about 6’7″, 305 lbs and Harrison around 6’0″, 242 lbs. Roughly 7 inches and 63 lbs difference in the two. The situation is a 3rd and 7 from the rams 40 yard-line with 5:36 left in the first half. The Steelers are in their nickel defense and will rush 5 on the play as linebacker Read more [...]

Will James Laurinaitis Get Fined For His Helmet To Helmet Hit On Defenseless Hines Ward?

I am sure we will get to see the bias against the Pittsburgh Steelers this week and the double standard that the NFL has as it relates to helmet-to-helmet hits on defenseless receivers. In case you missed it, St. Louis Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis hit Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward helmet-to-helmet while he was in a defenseless position after catching a short pass from quarterback Charlie Batch across the middle with 4:49 left in the game. Ward was going down and had just turned his head around before Laurinaitis clearly led with his helmet and the hit clearly snapped the neck Read more [...]

Harrison & Farrior Point Out Steelers Bias In Regards To Elam Hit On Spurlock

The Dallas Cowboys game Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was pretty much a laugher from the get-go, but two Pittsburgh Steelers players did not get a laugh out of the Cowboys final defensive play of the game. On 4th down and 12 from the Buccaneers 18 yard-line, Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman threw a pass down the right sideline to wide receiver Michael Spurlock, who had a step on Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman. The ball seemed to be slightly overthrown and Spurlock let up when he caught Cowboys safety Abram Elam closing out of the corner of his eye. The pictures below show Read more [...]

Breaking Down The Steelers Goal-line Stop On 3rd Down Versus Browns

There were several great play by the Pittsburgh Steelers defense last Thursday night in their 14-3 win over the Cleveland Browns and I wanted to focus in on the 3rd down and goal play from the Steelers 1 foot line with just over 10 minutes left in the first quarter. This play followed the great touchdown saving tackle of Browns quarterback Colt McCoy by James Harrison, that was originally ruled a touchdown. The Steelers are in goal-line personnel on this play and the first picture has the Steelers players numbered that are on the field so you can see who is where to begin with. Read more [...]

The NFL & Their Silly Little Double Standards

I am already over the one game suspension that the league handed down today to Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison for his helmet-to-helmet hit Thursday night on Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy. It is what it is and it is time to move on from it. Right now I am most concerned about the ankle injury suffered by Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the game against Browns and the effects of it moving forward. I am also more concerned about the silly irony of the NFL moving forward in regard to injuries. Believe it or not, I can tie the Harrison hit on McCoy, the injury Read more [...]

James Harrison Likely Will Face Fine For Helmet To Helmet Hit On Colt McCoy – Video

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison will almost certainly get fined for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy in the 4th quarter of the Thursday night game at Heinz Field. McCoy was scrambling outside the pocket and threw the ball on the run just before he passed the line of scrimmage. The video and animated gif below shows that Harrison hit McCoy right in the face mask after the ball left the hand of McCoy and after he completed his throwing motion. The hit jarred the head back of McCoy and knocked him clear off his feet. Harrison said he was penalized for Read more [...]

Breaking Down The Antonio Brown Punt Return Touchdown In Pictures

On the heels of Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown being named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week today, it is the perfect time to break down his 60 yard punt return for a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday at Heinz Field. You can see the full video replay here and the return only really consist of 4 key blocks as you will see in the screen shot pictures below. The play did have the controversial block in the back no-call, but it is not so blatant when you look at it frame by frame. Read more [...]

Steelers Singing Christmas Carols Today After Practice

The calender has flipped over to the December now and you know what that means? Unleash hell in December? Nope!!! It means we get to look forward to the 2011 Steelers team singing Christmas carols. Safety Ryan Clark gave all of us the heads up on Twitter today that they would be singing following practice today. There were quite a few funny moments last year in the videos and I suspect even more are ahead for this year. Remember the gangster linebacker look with James Harrison out front? What about the Rashard Mendenhall robot dance or the trick they played on Maurkice Pouncey? Perhaps the best Read more [...]

Chain Gang Old Men Should Be Seen & Not Heard

NHL.com Correspondent Alan Robinson, who previously was the AP Sports writer for the Pittsburgh area, pointed out last night on Twitter that we should go back and watch the guy on chain gang arguing the pass interference call against Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers with 12:28 left in the first half of the Steelers game Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. The play in question, was the 2nd down and 6 incomplete pass from Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery that was initially flagged as pass interference on Flowers at the Chiefs 1 yard-line.
