Season 2, Episode 20 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and make up for the short one Wednesday with a full hour today. We open with our Thursday interview with Phil Wilson, the Colts beat writer for the Indianapolis Star. Phil gives up his thoughts on the Sunday night game and tells it like it is. He updates us on the Colts injury situation and how he sees the Steelers attacking on both sides of the ball. Make sure to follow him on Twitter at @pwilson24 and read his pregame coverage on his blog at http://blogs.indystar.com/philb/. We thank Phil for the do-over as our Wednesday interview

Season 2, Episode 19 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I delve right into the injury report. Ben Roethlisberger isn't on the list, but we open with a discussion of the latest news regarding his knee. We then speculate on the long-term future of both Chris Kemoeatu and Bryant McFadden due to their lingering issues. As David tweeted Sunday, it's not out of the realm of possibility that McFadden has made his last career start as a Steeler. This week could be telling if he is healthy.
After a brief discussion of the Tuesday Mike Tomlin press conference and the Colts we review my article

Season 2, Episode 18 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I discuss the Steelers first win of the season, a 24-0 beating of an undermanned Seattle Seahawks team. We open by looking at the injury report, which appears to be pretty good after the Week 2 win.
In breaking down the game we look first at the Steelers goal-line offense and whether a change in scheme or personnel needs to be made. On their first possession the Steelers couldn't punch it in on fourth down from the one, but they fared better the second time around when Rashard Mendenhall was able to score. With two new linemen

Season 2, Episode 17 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I open with a closer look at the supposed chop blocks in the Steelers Ravens game that have been a hot topic as of late and we clarify the actual rule. We both agree that these were dangerous blocks and think the NFL needs to live up to their views on player safety and look closely at the linemen and these types of blocks. We then give our thoughts on the $15K fine Troy Polamalu received for his horse-collar tackle this past Sunday in addition.
Next we go full on and preview of the Steelers Seahawks game on both side of the

Season 2, Episode 16 of The Terrible Podcast is up and in Part 1 David Todd and I open with a look at the injury report, updating news on Jerricho Cotchery (bad), Chris Carter (good) and others. Of course Willie Colon isn't on that injury report because he is no longer on the Steelers 53-man roster. We thought the Steelers came out of Sunday's beating by the Ravens relatively healthy, but it turns out that wasn't the case. Colon tore his triceps late in the game and was placed on the IR by the Steelers Tuesday afternoon. We look at who the Steelers signed to fill his spot on the 53-man and discuss

Season 2, Episode 15 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and go over the 35-7 butt kicking the Steelers took at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens yesterday and explain how the Ravens were able to get it done.
It is an early morning podcast, but we both agree that the Steelers pass rush was not good and that Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was given plenty of time to hit Ray Rice and his young tight ends most of the game at will. Also Rice killed us on the ground. We take a look at the few players who were bright spots in the loss like Ike Taylor and talk about those that had bad showings.

Season 2, Episode 14 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I go after it hard and heavy as the Sunday game draws even closer. You want football talk? We've got football talk. Almost a full hour's worth. The NFL season kicked off last night and we start by taking a quick look at the Packers win over the Saints last night and how it relates to the current landscape of the game and more importantly to the Steelers. No teases in this podcast as David and I give our thoughts on the Baltimore Ravens game right up front and then go into the breakdown of the game on both sides of the ball.

Season 2, Episode 13 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I get a great preview of the Baltimore Ravens from John Eisenberg of CSNBaltimore.com. John brings us up to date on everything that has happened with the Ravens from hatchet day when the team released Todd Heap, Derrick Mason, et al, right up to the Ravens practice on Wednesday. There is tons of back-and-forth and John provides some excellent insight into both the personnel groupings and formations we can expect to see from the Ravens on Sunday. This is one of the best team previews we've had, be sure to check it out. You can

Season 2, Episode 12 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and and I open with a look back at the Steelers final preseason game against Carolina, a 33-17 victory. We don't want to read too much into a relatively meaningless game, but the Steelers again looked good. Emmanuel Sanders and Cortez Allen finally got on the field, Jonathan Dwyer continued to show some promise and a bunch of young guys had one final opportunity to impress the coaching staff.
After the recap we spend the rest of our time breaking down the final 53-man roster and 8-man practice squad and look back at the roster

Season 2, Episode 11 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I spend most of out time reviewing the Steelers 34-16 preseason victory over the Atlanta Falcons. This will be the formula we will use during the season and these are the podcasts we like doing the most--analyzing the play on the field.
But first, we start with the news that Kevin Colbert has a new title. Call him whatever you like, Colbert has few peers in the business and this is more formality that anything. We also review the early cuts (no surprises) and the injury report. How will the Steelers deal with broken left arm

Season 2, Episode 10 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I discuss what has been a very quiet camp for the Steelers thus far. Fortunately there has only been one significant injury (to 7th round pick RB Baron Batch) and very little of the off-field drama that we have seen in seasons past. With such a veteran roster there really is only one starting position up for grabs, right guard, and probably only 3-5 roster spots on the 53-man roster open to competition. While it certainly makes for less news and intrigue, I'm sure the Steelers would be prefer it be like this every year.

Season 2, Episode 9 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I continue with our discussion of the Steelers roster battles while talking a look back at the team's dominating win over the Philadelphia Eagles this past Thursday. As you might imagine, mostly glowing reviews, but concerns remain over the corner position and how the 51st, 52nd & 53rd spots are likely to play out. We also briefly discuss the breaking news that Terrelle Pryor was taken in the 3rd round of the supplemental draft by the Oakland Raiders.
In Part 2 we are joined by long-time Steelers beat writer for the Pittsburgh

Season 2, Episode 8 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I get a full preview in of the Steelers second preseason game against the Eagles tonight at Heinz Field. We get things started by going over the players that will not play tonight and how thin the Steelers are particularly at the cornerback position. We move on to recap the news of the Limas Sweed release. David was a little surprised it happened so soon, while I on the other hand was not shocked. We hit on the Steelers recent attempt of claiming Thaddeus Gibson off waivers this week as well.
As we move along I cover the things

Season 2, Episode 7 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I continue taking a hard look at how the Steelers roster is going to shake out and this time we finally have some game tape to analyze.
In Part 1 we open by looking at the injury news and the signing Jericho Cothchery. As you might expect based on our recent discussions, we don't really agree on how necessary of a signing this was. You can let us know whose side you come down on. After discussing the injuries of Baron Batch, Ike Taylor and some of the young guys, we get into the good stuff. Roster battles. In today's episode

Season 2, Episode 6 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I really cover a lot in this very fast paced episode. We start with the new LaMarr Woodley contract and then go into the recent visit of free agent receiver Jerricho Cotchery and how he left town without a contract. It does not bother David too much, but I still voice my ongoing concerns about the health of Emmanuel Sanders and the total progression of Antonio Brown and if he is ready to assume the number three role if called upon. David thinks Tyler Grisham could still make the 53 man roster and we quickly go over the rest of

Season 2, Episode 5 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I open with, for the last time we promise, with a discussion of the final ratification of the CBA expected to come on Thursday afternoon. The Steelers are so certain this going to happen that they have moved practice from its scheduled start time of 2:55 to 4:00 pm. We then discuss Rule 51 and the salary cap and debunk the idea that the Steelers are $7-10 million over the cap. Well they actually are so-to-speak, but we explain why it's no big deal.
Finally we talk football--again, kind of. We talk first about the guys that

Season 2, Episode 4 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I start by looking at all the recent Steelers signings, 9 of their own unrestricted free agents, 2 of their restricted free agents and their first signing of a player from outside the organization which was announced on Tuesday morning in the form of tight end John Gilmore.
After that we get into the roster battles. This is the most important and most interesting topic throughout the preseason and we will be sharing out thoughts and opinions on every podcast from now until the 53-man roster is set in early September. We discuss

Season 2, Episode 3 of The Terrible Podcast is up and day 3 of Steelers training camp is in the books now. I am joined by Mark Kaboly from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review who had the epic Plaxico Burress watch going on Twitter today as he gave a play-by-play of the Burress visit. Make sure you are following him at @MarkKaboly_Trib. We talk about the Burress visit and the chances of him signing with the Steelers to get the interview off to a fast start. I ask Mark if he thinks the offseason foot surgeries that Emmanuel Sanders had is behind the interest in Burress. We talk about the Steelers salary

Season 2, Episode 2 of The Terrible Podcast is up and the 2nd day of training camp is in full swing. David Todd and I start dissecting the busy couple of days so far since the team reported to Latrobe and go over the signings of Ike Taylor, Willie Colon, Jonathan Scott and Shaun Suisham for starters and how we think the offensive line shapes up so far. We also discuss the release of Max Starks, Flozell Adams and Antwaan Randle El in addition.
We report who is starting where on the offensive line as the team opens their first on-field practice with several players unable to practice because

Today we unveil Season 2, Episode 1 (please help us come up with a better name) of The Terrible Podcast. The lockout is over finally and seemingly no real damage has been done, unless you own a bar or motel in Canton, as they have cancelled the Hall of Fame Game. David Todd and I take a look at the big picture and spend a few minutes on the nuts and bolts of the labor agreement. We also look at the league timeline of events and the Steelers schedule from when players officially report Thursday up until the first preseason game at Washington on August 12th.
Things will get hectic starting Thursday
