Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday to talk about the Sunday night loss to the Denver Broncos as well as the upcoming game against the New York Jets.
Below are the talking points and audio from the press conference and I will be adding more to it shortly.
Tomlin started off by saying that after watching the game tape from Sunday that his opinion hasn't changed. The Steelers lacked significant plays and the Broncos made some. He did say that the quality of execution was not there late in the game.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media for his post game press conference following the 31-19 opening week loss to the Denver Broncos Sunday night.
Below is the recap of the presser along with the audio.
Tomlin said that it was a tough defeat, but that in a nutshell the Broncos made the significant plays in the second half, particularly down the stretch in all three phases of the game.
Tomlin said the team lacked those type of game-defining plays.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his first regular season press conference on Tuesday in preparation for the Sunday night opener in Denver against the Denver Broncos.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his post game press conference following the 17-16 win over the Carolina Panthers in the fourth and final preseason game of the 2012 season.
Tomlin said that rookie linebacker Sean Spence is currently at a local hospital with a significant left knee injury that he suffered late in the 3rd quarter of the game. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media Saturday night following the 38-7 win over the Buffalo Bills in the third game of the preseason and announced that the right knee injury suffered by rookie right guard David DeCastro is potentially severe and that the first round draft pick will have an MRI done when the team gets back to Pittsburgh to see what it says.
Tomlin also said that defense end Brett Keisel suffered a mild high ankle sprain and that they held him out as a precaution. Tomlin made it sound like Keisel should be ready to go for the opener at Denver.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his press conference on Thursday to talk about the upcoming preseason game Saturday night against the Buffalo Bills and below is the audio along with the talking points.
Tomlin said that the starters on both offense and defense will play at least a half against the Bills and that he would see where it goes from there.

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Indianapolis Colts 26-24 Sunday night at Heinz Field in their second preseason game of the year and head coach Mike Tomlin met the media afterwards for his post game press conference to discuss the game.
Tomlin said after the game that there is still a lot that needs to be corrected and that is part of August football. He noted that he thought the defensive turnovers were big as was the punt block by Mortty Ivy. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media Friday morning for his pregame press conference for the game Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts at Heinz Field.
Tomlin refused to rule out any players for the game, but it is obvious that both tackle Max Starks (knee), punter Jeremy Kapinos (back) and running back Isaac Redman (groin) will not play. Kapinos, who reportedly was kicking around a socccer ball on Thursday, might even kick a football on Friday according to Tomlin. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addresses the media for his post game press conference following the 24-23 loss Thursday night to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Injury wise, Tomlin said fullback David Johnson suffered a severe knee injury that will be further evaluated when the team gets back to Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced during his Tuesday press conference that rookie offensive linemen David DeCastro and Mike Adams will start at right guard and left tackle respectively against the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night.
Tomlin also stated that guard Willie Colon will not play Thursday night as he continues to recover from his ankle injury. Ramon Foster will start at left guard in the place of Colon. Also not playing Thursday night on the defense will be defensive end Cameron Heyward.

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley met the media for a press conference to discuss the selection of Florida running back Chris Rainey in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL draft. The Pittsburgh Steelers introduced their 2012 first round draft pick, Stanford guard David DeCastro, to the media today so he could hold his introductory press conference. Team President Art Rooney II introduced DeCastro after the ceremonial presentation of the No. 1 Steelers jersey. After several poses for the camera DeCastro, a man of few works, took the podium to answer questions from the local media.

Pittsburgh Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin met the media on Monday for their annual pre draft press conference to talk about the upcoming draft. I could listen to Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau talk football for hours, but a close second to him is linebackers coach Keith Butler. I was going back through some post draft interviews tonight of Butler after the draft selections of Jason Worilds, Stevenson Sylvester and Chris Carter to refresh my memory on what he said on each and if I could pick up any clues as it might relate to the draft this year. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward announced his retirement today during a noon press conference at the Steelers facility after 14 seasons. Ward stated that he could not fathom putting on another uniform and was very choked up when talking about Steeler Nation and the support that he has received following his release. Ward stated that Jerome Bettis helped through his decision making process to get to where he is at right now. Ward said his only regret was contract hold out several years ago. The Pittsburgh Steelers introduced Todd Haley as their new offensive coordinator on Thursday and here are a few of talking points from the noon presser.
Mike Tomlin introduced Haley and said during the introduction that Haley brings some intangibles that he desires. He went on to say that he was impressed with Haley for his resume and love of the Steelers. He added that he did a lot of research and was really impressed by him.
