Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his first regular season press conference on Tuesday in preparation for the Sunday night opener in Denver against the Denver Broncos. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his post game press conference following the 17-16 win over the Carolina Panthers in the fourth and final preseason game of the 2012 season. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media Saturday night following the 38-7 win over the Buffalo Bills in the third game of the preseason and announced that the right knee injury suffered by rookie right guard David DeCastro is potentially severe and that the first round draft pick will have an MRI done when the team gets back to Pittsburgh to see what it says. Tomlin refused to rule out any players for the game, but it is obvious that both tackle Max Starks (knee), punter Jeremy Kapinos (back) and running back Isaac Redman (groin) will not play. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced during his Tuesday press conference that rookie offensive linemen David DeCastro and Mike Adams will start at right guard and left tackle respectively against the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night. Tomlin also stated that guard Willie Colon will not play Thursday night as he continues to recover from his ankle injury. Ramon Foster will start at left guard in the place of Colon. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward announced his retirement today during a noon press conference at the Steelers facility after 14 seasons. Ward stated that he could not fathom putting on another uniform and was very choked up when talking about Steeler Nation and the support that he has received following his release.
