The Steelers lost S Troy Polamalu and CB Bryant McFadden to injuries during the fourth quarter of the game against the Bengals. Polamalu was injured while making a tackle on Bengals RB Cedric Benson.

The Steelers will get the luxury of paying more attention to Chad Ocho Cinco and T.J. Houshmandzadeh today. They will force the Bengals to prove they can run the ball against a 7 man front. Ryan Fitzpatrick is no Carson Palmer and Chris Perry and Cedric Benson are not world beaters. On offense the Steellers will look to spread the ball around to Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Nate Washington. Heath Miller could have his biggest game of the year if the Bengals attempt to cover him with a linebacker. Mewelde Moore should have space to run all day. This should be an easy day for the Steelers.

Steelers Week 7 Friday Practice Injury Report

The Steelers wrapped up the post bye practice week, Friday, with WR Dallas Baker (shoulder), RB Carey Davis (ankle) and LB Keyaron Fox (hamstring) all being ruled out this week on the injury report with Baker being the only one to practice limited on Friday. RB Willie Parker (knee) and T Marvel Smith (back) both sat out again on Friday and are officially listed as doubtful on the injury report and both are very unlikely to suit up versus the Bengals. DT Casey Hampton (groin) was limited on Friday and is listed as questionable and likely will be a game time decision.

Dan Rooney Might Buy Out Brothers

NFL owners were told that Steelers’ chairman Dan Rooney may buy out his four younger brothers’ shares in the Steelers by the end of this years.
The Rooney brothers had previously rejected an offer from billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller to buy their shares in September of this year. Their decision followed on the heels of a meeting that all five brothers attended with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in which Goodell made it perfectly clear that the NFL would do everything possible so that Rooney could retain control of the Steelers.

Steelers Week 7 Thursday Practice Injury Report

On Thursday, Steelers WR Hines Ward (Not injury related) was back practicing fully after his customary Wednesday day off. NT Casey Hampton (Groin) was limited in practice participation on Thursday and WR Dallas Baker (Shoulder), RB Carey Davis (Ankle), LB Keyaron Fox (Hamstring), RB Willie Parker (Knee) and T Marvel Smith (Back) all sat out again on Thursday. Parker and Smith are looking more and more like they will be sidelined this week versus the Bengals.
Steelers release DT Reffett, sign KR Foster to practice squad

The Steelers released defensive tackle Jordan Reffett from the practice squad and signed kick return specialist Jayson Foster. The 5-foot-7, 175-pound Foster starred at Georgia Southern and won the Walter Payton Award, which is given to the top player in Division I-AA, in 2007.

Steelers running back Willie Parker did not practice with the Steelers today because he re-aggravated his injured knee and his status is now uncertain against Cincinnati. Parker stepped in a hole in practice on Monday and aggravated his sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee

Steelers Win Even During Bye Week

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a very good week even though it was a bye week. Both the Bungles and the Ratbirds lost, distancing the Steelers even more atop of the AFC North Division. Also several players look to return from injuries this week versus the Bungles. Defensive end Brett Keisel, running back Willie Parker and nose tackle Casey Hampton all hope to be back in the lineup. Fullback Carey Davis (ankle sprain), linebacker Keyaron Fox (hamstring) and wide receiver Dallas Baker (shoulder sprain/separation) are all ruled out for Sunday’s game.

Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel is back practicing in pads with the team on Tuesday. Keisel has missed the last couple of weeks with a calf injury. Running back Willie Parker is not in pads today, but is also back on the practice field.

Steelers sign LB Patrick Bailey to the practice squad

The Steelers today signed linebacker Patrick Bailey to the practice squad. Bailey has played in two games for the Steelers before he was released last Saturday to make room for defensive tackle Scott Paxson on the 53-man roster.
