Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media today for his weekly Tuesday press conference to discuss the loss to the Texans this past Sunday as well as the upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans this coming Sunday at Heinz Field. Tomlin also provided an injury update on all of the walking wounded. Below is the audio of the presser and the talking points from today.

You can add Steelers running back Mewelde Moore to the list of walking wounded following the Steelers loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday as Mike Prisuta is reporting via Twitter that Moore exited the Steelers facility this morning in a walking boot. This makes two running backs injured yesterday as Rashard Mendenhall left the game yesterday with a hamstring injury. This now leaves the Steelers with just two healthy running backs in the form of Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer. Dwyer has been inactive for the first four games of the season.
The Moore injury was not reveled by Steelers head coach

I have gone through the tape a few times now and am starting a 3rd time through to start charting, but I have enough info to give a more in-depth recap of what I saw Sunday against the Houston Texans. Below are my liner notes from the game.
The Texans opening drive set the tone for the whole game. The Steelers defensive line was blown off the ball and very few times did Aaron Smith, Ziggy Hood or Casey Hampton stay squared to the line during the first few drives. Hampton seemed to be more concerned about being cut and chopped. Hood had the best game of all the lineman and that is not saying

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said in his post game press conference that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was getting x-rays on his left foot following the 17-10 loss to the Houston Texans this afternoon and he is scheduled for an MRI on Monday according to the early reports. Roethlisberger exited the shower after the game on crutches and had his left foot in a walking boot. He told reporters after the game that he was uncertain about his status for this coming Sunday, but added that if he can be out there he will be out there.
Roethlisberger said he was injured during the Steelers second

The Steelers are on the road once again this week as they travel down to Houston to take on the Houston Texans with yet another new version of an offensive line. The Texans are coming off of a tough loss to the Saints last week while the Steelers squeaked out a road win against the Colts. This game should be a tightly contested battle and the Texans are rightly the home favorites. As I do each and every week, here are my 7 things to watch for this week if the Steelers want to win the game along with my score prediction at the end of the keys to the game. I will have my week 4 picks and predictions

The hot news this afternoon after practice is that practice squad tackle Trevis Turner could be promoted to the active roster for the Sunday game against the Houston Texans due to injuries to Jonathan Scott and Doug Legursky. If indeed that does happen, the Steelers will need to either release a player or place one on injured reserve to make room for him on the 53 man roster.
From a salary cap standpoint the Steelers will likely have to release a player with less than 4 years accrued experience as after week 1 the vested players base salary is guaranteed and thus still counts against the cap.

The Steelers were in pads on Thursday as they get ready to take on the Houston Texans this Sunday down in Houston. The Thursday injury report is out and it shows that wide receiver Arnaz Battle (knee), tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle), guard Doug Legursky and defensive end Brett Keisel (knee) did not practice again today. All four look highly unlikely to play this Sunday. Also added to the injury report today was defensive tackle Steve McLendon (illness) as he was out sick today. Linebacker Chris Carter (hamstring) was also added to the injury report today as limited on Thursday. Wide receiver Mike

The Steelers got their first official practice of the week in on Wednesday in preparation for their week 4 game against the Houston Texans this coming Sunday in Houston. The injury report shows that right guard Doug Legursky (shoulder), wide receiver Arnaz Battle (knee), left tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) and defensive end Brett Keisel (knee) all sat out out today and did not practice. All 4 players are highly questionable to play this week right now. Wide receiver Mike Wallace (ribs) was limited on Wednesday, but should be fine by Sunday. Wide receiver Hines Ward (not injury related), linebacker

I posted a few thoughts in my post game recap of the Steelers 23-20 win last night against the Indianapolis Colts and after going back through the game a few times now, here are several more observations of the game.
Antonio Brown is a special player that continues to make plays not only in the passing game, but the return game as well. He will miss an occasional adjustment or hot read, but more than makes up for it every game.
Emmanuel Sanders had a rough game and the early drop could have turned 3 points into 7. His failure to tag down Joe Lefeged after the interception also turned into

The Steelers practiced again on Thursday in preparation for their week 3 game Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts. There was some good news on Thursday as center Maurkice Pouncey (hamstring) practice fully today after being limited on Wednesday. Running back Jonathan Dwyer (shoulder) also practiced fully after being limited yesterday. Defensive end Brett Keisel (knee) remains sidelined and is almost certain to be out Sunday. Ziggy Hood will get the start at right defensive end with Keisel down. Linebacker James Farrior (not injury related), wide receiver Hines Ward (not injury related)

The Steelers started their on the field practice preparations Wednesday for the upcoming Sunday night game against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Wednesday injury and participation reports shows the right defensive end Brett Keisel (knee) did not work today. Keisel was termed questionable at best by Mike Tomlin on Tuesday. It is highly unlikely he will be ready by Sunday night and Ziggy Hood will likely start in his place. Running back Jonathan Dwyer (shoulder) and center Maurkice Pouncey (hamstring) were both limited today while wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring), cornerback

I did not get too deep into observations in my game recap yesterday as I wanted to re-watch the game a few times before commenting deeper. I will keep this format all season long as I do not believe one can give good and accurate observations on just one viewing of a game. With that said, he are some things I observed from the game a few time through it.
You can no longer call Mike Wallace a one trick pony. Team's try to focus on taking away the deep ball away on now, only to play off and give up the underneath stuff which he gladly takes. Even when pressed he can get open. The sight adjustment

The Steelers rebounded nicely after the week 1 loss to the Ravens with a 24-0 shut-out today of the Seattle Seahawks at Heinz Field. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger shook off a first half knee injury and threw for 298 yards on 30 passing attempts and 1 touchdown to Mike Wallace. Roethlisberger completed 22 passes on the day and did not throw an interception.
Wallace caught 8 of 9 balls thrown his way, including the touchdown, and finished with 126 receiving yards. He also set up the Steelers on their first possession at the one-yard line after drawing a pass interference call in the endzone.

The Steelers come off of a week 1 road drubbing against the Ravens and get the Seattle Seahawks at home as get well medicine. The Seahawks played a close game against the 49ers in week 1, but their special teams gave way the game. The Steelers are right around two touchdown favorites heading into this game and nothing helps forget a blowout loss more than blowing out the team you face the next week. As I do every week, here are my 7 things to watch for on Sunday as the Steelers host the Seahawks at Heinz Field along with my final score prediction.
Special Sunday - The Seahawks special teams unit
