There were several great play by the Pittsburgh Steelers defense last Thursday night in their 14-3 win over the Cleveland Browns and I wanted to focus in on the 3rd down and goal play from the Steelers 1 foot line with just over 10 minutes left in the first quarter. This play followed the great touchdown saving tackle of Browns quarterback Colt McCoy by James Harrison, that was originally ruled a touchdown. The Steelers wrapped up practice preparations on Friday with G Trai Essex (ankle) once again being limited in practice. Essex is officially listed as doubtful on the injury report and will likely be inactive on Sunday for the 3rd game in a row. Doug Legursky will start at right guard once again. Back-up NT Chris Hoke worked all week and it seems like he will be ready to resume his role of spelling starting NT Casey Hampton when needed. The Steelers debuted a 23-minute highlight film chronicling the 2008 season on Friday at the East Club Lounge at Heinz Field. The film was produced by John Weiss of NFL Films and entitled: "Brothers and Champions: The Story of the 2008 Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers". The film was narrated by Larry Richert of KDKA radio. Hard to believe that Browns center Hank Fraley was once a Steeler. He is currently passing on his wisdom to rookie Alex Mack and he credits former Steeler center, Dermontti Dawson, for guidance when he was a rookie. I am very high on University of California center Alex Mack and if available with the last pick in the first round I really think the Steelers will select him. Mack said at the NFL combine that he would be willing to play guard in the NFL.
