The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed tackle Trevis Turner to a future contract according to a source. Turner was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent back in July and spent all of the 2011 season on the Steelers practice squad.
Turner joins offensive lineman John Malecki, tight end Jamie McCoy and defensive end Corbin Bryant as other Steelers players that finished the season on the practice squad that have been re-signed back to future contracts.
As I reported earlier, the Steelers have also signed wide receiver Jimmy Young, defensive back Anthony Smith, defensive

Day 13 of Steelers training camp is in the books and here is your daily recap of the days news and practice report.
It was reported last night that free agent tight end Reggie Kelly was visiting Latrobe today, but Kelly has left without a contact according to Gerry Dulac on Twitter.
Dulac also reported this morning that Emmanuel Sanders could be back at practice as early as Monday. Sanders reportedly will have X-rays on Wednesday to see how the healing in his foot is coming along after getting the bone marrow and calcium injection done just after training camp got underway. The worst thing

Day one was excellent in my opinion for the Steelers when they drafted Florida offensive linemen Maurkice Pouncey. Pouncey fit a need can contribute right away more than likely and is versatile. Day 2 of the draft in my opinion was not as fruitful. They started with talk that the Steelers wanted to move up in round 2. Smoke screen? Perhaps, but one really never knows for sure. Either it was a smoke screen or the price was just too much.
In my opinion things were going the perfect way for the Black and Gold as a few players were sliding down the board. A lot of the fan base was hoping for Golden

Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians claims the offensive line only gave up 19 sacks last year of the 46 suffered, "Running backs, tight ends, receivers and quarterbacks gave up most of the rest. Those guys, every time there’s a sack it has to be the offensive linemen but a lot of times it was a receiver missing the hot read, the quarterback getting himself sacked a few times, because he likes to run around. We’re not going to change that.", said Arians.

The Steelers former third-round draft pick, safety Anthony Smith, agreed to a contract with the Green Bay Packers on Friday. Details of the contract are not available at this time. Smith was a restricted free-agent and not tendered a contract with the Steelers. Smith will reunite with new Packers safeties coach, Darren Perry, who was Smith’s defensive backs coach with the Steelers in 2006. Smith is better known to Steeler fans as the player that guaranteed a win versus the New England Patriots late in 2007.

Safety Anthony Smith just can not seem to keep his mouth shut. Smith once again is mouthing off about the upcoming New England Patriots game. Smith told the Indiana Gazette, “If they ask me again, I’ll say the same thing. We’re the No. 1 defense. If we play like we’ve been playing, and our offense comes around and has a good game, and we’re clicking on all cylinders, we’re going to win the game.”
Smith needs To worry about making plays and not getting the Patriots all ramped up. Someone in the Steeler locker room needs to take him off to the side and give him an attitude check. The

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media a little while ago from the Steelers South Side practice facilty. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes met with Tomlin on Monday and is back with the team and will practice and should play this week baring any suspension from the league. Running back Willie Parker worked out today and Tomlin described his status as day-to-day. Safety Ryan Clark will be doubtful this week with a shoulder separation. Linebacker Keyaron Fox is still recovering from a hamstring injury and his status is undecided. Nose tackle Casey Hampton is day-to-day with turf toe, but
