Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger recently did a sit down interview with his mentor Merril Hoge for ESPN. Roethlisberger reflects on his troubled past several months and admitted he even contemplated giving up football. Head coach Mike Tomlin says Ben Roethlisberger looked sharp in his first week back of practice. Quarterback Charlie Batch, defensive end Aaron Smith, wide receiver Hines Ward, linebacker James Farrior and right tackle Flozell Adams were all given time off this week. Defensive tackle Steve McLendon was waived on Thursday as the roster exemption for the returning Ben Read more [...]

The Steelers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-13 in the 3rd game of the 2010 season. Below are my recap notes and nuggets I kept on the game along with my observations. I have much more coming on this game and am working through the night. These are initial reactions of mine as I am about to watch the game a second time and begin working up tape selections. Below are the notes I compiled throughout the game. remember these are initial reactions one time through the game. What can you say about Charlie Batch? Time again to read the tea leaves for who will be inactive for the game Sunday down in Tampa against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The list remains hard to nail down in two spots mainly because of the unknown future status of Dennis Dixon and his prospects of being placed on injured reserve and the expected heat down in Tampa. The Steelers get back Max Starks this week, but lose Trai Essex to an ankle injury. The Steelers rotated in every dressed lineman last week in the Nashville heat and they very well could dress all healthy linemen this week just in case. What we know for sure is that Dixon, Essex, Read more [...]

Special teams coach Al Everest is already paying dividends and the speed of Antonio Brown can not be ignored in the return game going forward. Below we have the aerial view breakdown of the touchdown return by Brown against the Titans this past Sunday and the players involved. Read more [...]

Today was a tough earned road win against a great Titans defensive team. Steelers wanted Read more [...]
The Steelers are half way to playing with house money for the first four games after slipping past Atlanta last week in week 1 of the NFL season. The win was huge and takes a ton of pressure off of the team immediately as they head out for their first road game of 2010. A win in Nashville would be epic and put the Steelers in a fantastic position heading into week 3. Per my usual here, below are 7 keys to the game that I believe the Steelers need to focus on to beat the Titans and a game prediction at the end. No Big Johnson Outside - For me to tell you how dangerous Titans running back Chris Read more [...]
Now that we have the Steelers Friday injury report out, it is time to read the tea leaves and see who may or may not get hats this week for the Steelers. Due to the numerous injuries, there is not too much guess work involved this week in the inactive list. Below is my guess at the Steelers 8 inactives this week. QB Byron Leftwich - As nice that it is to see him back practicing with a knee brace and getting a probable listing this week on the injury report, it is hard to imagine that he will be anything more than a number 3 emergency quarterback this week. It will be nice to see if he indeed Read more [...]

The Steelers wrapped up practice preparations on Friday for the week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday in Nashville.
