The Steelers are coming off of a sluggish win last Sunday night against the Chiefs and can not expect to have the same type of performance this week against a good Cincinnati Bengals team if they expect to complete the season sweep. A solid win will go a long way in ensuring that the Bengals are knocked out of the race for the AFC North crown and will build good momentum for the team heading into a short week. A loss by the Steelers will pretty much mean that they will have to make the playoffs as a wild card team. As I do each and every week, here are 7 things to look for in the game on Sunday

The Steelers wrapped up their Friday practice session today in preparation to host the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Heinz Field. The Friday injury report is now out and it shows that linebacker LaMarr Woodley (hamstring), safety Troy Polamalu (head), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (hand), center Maurkice Pouncey (illness), wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (foot) and linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (calf) are listed as probable after all practiced fully on Friday. The Steelers continued their practice preparations on Thursday for their week 13 game this coming Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals at Heinz Field and the Thursday injury report is now out following practice. As mentioned earlier today, center Maurkice Pouncey (illness) was limited as he works back from the stomach virus that forced him to exit early from the game Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. The virus caused him to lose 12 pounds, and he is just now starting to regain his strength according to the afternoon reports, and he has gained back 2 of the lost pounds thus

The Steelers were back on the practice field Wednesday to begin getting ready to take on the Cincinnati Bengals for the second time this season Sunday after at Heinz Field. The first injury report of the week as been released today and it shows that both safety Troy Polamalu (head) and center Maurkice Pouncey (illness) both sat out out practice on Wednesday. Polamalu left the Sunday night game against the Chiefs early with a concussion and Pouncey exited early as well with a stomach virus. Polamalu did not talk to reporters today and Mike Tomlin said yesterday he was hopeful to have him available

The Steelers began week 14 practice preparations on Wednesday for the Sunday home game against the Cincinnati Bengals. WR Hines Ward (not injury related), S Troy Polamalu (ankle), T Flozell Adams (ankle), TE Heath Miller (concussion) and DE Aaron Smith (triceps) all sat out on Wednesday. Smith of course will be out again this Sunday, while Miller and Adams are likely doubtful to play as well. Ward and Polamalu will be good to go on Sunday. RB Isaac Redman (ankle) was limited on Wednesday. QB Ben Roethlisberger was not listed at all on the Wednesday report. He is recovering from nose surgery earlier

Now that day one is in the books and the Steelers addressed the offensive line in round one with the selection of Maurkice Pouncey from Florida. It is time to direct the attention to the Steelers 2nd round pick. In my mock draft, I had Kareem Jackson. I knew his stock was on the rise after talking to a few scouts, but thought there was still an outside shot he would slide to round 2. WPXI is reporting this morning that police in Milledgeville, Ga., will soon wrap up their case that accuses Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of sexually assault that they'll soon present the case to the district attorney.

The Steelers will begin to bring 2010 draft prospects in for pre draft visits starting next week. NFL teams are allowed to host 30 non local prospects prior to the draft. Below is a running list of players we have confirmed have been scheduled for visits as of today. We will use this as our official Steelers pre draft visit list and will update this as the visits happen or more are announced.
