The Steelers are coming off of a sluggish win last Sunday night against the Chiefs and can not expect to have the same type of performance this week against a good Cincinnati Bengals team if they expect to complete the season sweep. A solid win will go a long way in ensuring that the Bengals are knocked out of the race for the AFC North crown and will build good momentum for the team heading into a short week. A loss by the Steelers will pretty much mean that they will have to make the playoffs as a wild card team. As I do each and every week, here are 7 things to look for in the game on Sunday Read more [...]

The Steelers are still stinging from their Sunday night loss in the finals seconds to the Ravens, but must regroup quickly for another division game on the road against the AFC North leading Cincinnati Bengals. This is a must game if the Steelers still want to have any shot at winning the division as a loss would make them 0-3 in division play. The Bengals are the surprise team in the division and should not be faulted for playing an easy schedule to start the season. As I do each and every week, here are my 7 things to watch for this week against the Bengals as the Steelers look to move to Read more [...]

Hines Ward beat Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap in the first round of the Madden 12 cover contest and is now in the Sweet 16 squaring off against 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis with the winner moving on to face the winner of the Andre Johnson, Michael Vick match-up. Make sure to vote for Hines. Ward is winning more than Charlie Sheen as of late as he and his dance partner Kym Johnson also advanced to the next round of Dancing with the Stars. Perhaps Hines is on the Tiger Blood. The Steelers brass were present at the University of Texas Pro Day on Tuesday to get a good look at Aaron Williams, Read more [...]

Madden 12 Cover Could Be Hines Ward

It's March Madden time. No, not that March Madness , March Madden. Like the video game Madden 12. Steeler Nation can vote online for Hines Ward to grace the cover of Madden 12. EA Sports along with ESPN SportsNation is having a bracket like contest that pits two players against each other, or in the case of the Seahawks, the 12th man. I find that kind of weird. First up for Hines Ward is the Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap. Hines is the number 2 seed on his side of the bracket while Dunlap is the 15th. Should Hines advance in round 1, it seems he will face the winner between The 12th Man and Read more [...]

Both sides of the ball were very sluggish to start with and it was not the first time we have seen this. The defense seemed confused to start with how the Bengals were lining up the fullback, tight end and extra tackles. Once they got that sorted out after the first drive they calmed down. LaMarr Woodley got of to a rough start starting with the first 3rd down, but he more than made up for it. I do not harp on non-calls that much in these recaps, but the missed holding calls on Woodley and James Harrison were VERY noticeable. I might try to clip gifs of all of these as the week goes. They Read more [...]
