Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and center Maurkice Pouncey both plan on practicing today according to Twitter reports by Scott Brown, Mark Kaboly and Ed Bouchette. Kaboly reports that Roethlisberger has absolutely no limp at all walking through the locker room today and that he looks 100 percent fine. Emmanuel Sanders Says He Will Return Kickoffs Again This Week Against Bengals

Mike Bires is reporting via Twitter that wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who replaced Antonio Brown as the Steelers kickoff return man against the Chiefs Sunday night, told reporters today that he’ll do it again Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Sanders returned 4 kickoffs against the Chiefs for 77 yards Sunday night and Brown only had one fair catch on 3 punt return opportunities. It seems that head coach Mike Tomlin will let Sanders have the kickoff return duties for the time being and pretty much said as such on Tuesday during his press conference. As far as the recovery of the Read more [...]

Antonio Brown Leads NFL In Catches Over Last 4 Weeks

Dale Lolley pointed out today on Twitter that Steelers second year wide receiver Antonio Brown leads the NFL in catches over the last 4 weeks with 26. I double checked the numbers and it is indeed a true stat. Brown has been targeted 40 times in the last 4 games and has caught 65% of them for 364 yards. Catches are fine and dandy, but perhaps an even greater stat is that 22 of the 26 balls he has caught have resulted in a first down or a touchdown. That is 85% of balls caught producing more than just a catch. He is averaging 14 yards per catch over that span and 9.1 yards per target in addition. Mike Read more [...]

Steelers Ravens Week: Terrell Suggs Drops F-Bomb During Conference Call

Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs did not disappoint the media today during his conference call in regards to the upcoming Sunday night game at Heinz Field. Dale Lolley and other members of the media tweeted that Suggs dropped the F-bomb less than one minute into his conference call when he used the F-word when he said, “f@#$ it. Let’s do it.” Suggs had some other great zingers and said that he considers Heinz Field to be his Madison Square Garden. When asked if he owns Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Suggs replied, “No man owns anybody, but if there’s anybody who can bring him down by Read more [...]

Report: Steelers NT Chris Hoke Has Nerve Problem In Neck

Dale Lolley reports this morning that Steelers nose tackle Chris Hoke is struggling to return to game ready action as he tries to recover from his latest stinger suffered against Jaguars. Lolley reports that the issue is that this is the second such stinger that Hoke has suffered in a short period of time and that the nerve sheath still hasn’t regenerated. Lolley goes on to suggest that this will likely be an issue for Hoke for the remainder of the season. Yesterday Mike Tomlin described the status of Hoke as status quo and made it sound like he will indeed miss his second straight game Read more [...]

Ben Roethlisberger Wants To Run More No-Huddle Offense

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger met with the media today before practice per his usual and told reporters that he thinks the offense needs to run more no huddle. He went on to say that he likes to run no-huddle because he’s calling the plays and working off what he sees and claims he lobbied to use it Sunday against the Jaguars but was shot down. While these early comments are being relayed by Dale Lolley and Mark Kaboly on Twitter today, it will be interesting to hear the full context of the interview later on today. It will also be interesting to see the rebuttal by offensive coordinator Read more [...]

I suggested a few days ago that Bryant McFadden could be the one out come final cut-downs and it seems that sentiment is picking up steam now as Dale Lolley now reports that rumblings are getting stronger that McFadden may indeed be the odd man. Ike Taylor, Aaron Smith and Emmanuel Sanders were all back on the practice field Tuesday in some capacity. Taylor and Sanders will still be ruled out for the Saturday game against the Falcons.
