Following the news that Steelers safety Ryan Clark had been $40K for his hit on Ravens tight end Ed Dickson Sunday night, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a message for NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith. According to a tweet by Scott Brown, Roethlisberger said that that Smith should "stand up and do something to protect players."
Clark has also been very vocal today and also suggested that Smith needs to do something on behalf of players, according to Brown. Clark went on to say that he had no issue with his $15K fine last week for his hit out of bounds the week before on Patriots tight

OK, here is the outline of how things will go down pending the players voting to ratify the agreement. The Hall of Fame game has been cancelled. It also looks like the personal conduct policy will remain in full effect, but it looks like players will not be punished for comments. Good news for James Harrison. NFL clubs approved today the terms of a comprehensive settlement of litigation and a new 10-year collective bargaining agreement with the NFL Players Association.

Gatorade and NFL Films have teamed up to do the Everything To Prove series as they follow 14 rookies on their journey from the training for the combine to their first game in the league. Steelers rookie defensive end Cameron Heyward is 1 of the 14 and you can catch up with the series here on Facebook.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith opened a four-day labor discussion in Minnesota, then hopped on a plane to Florida to speak to players at the rookie symposium going on this week.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was present for the Wisconsin Pro Day on Wednesday as tackle Gabe Carimi, defensive end J.J. Watt and tight end Lance Kendricks were all on display. All three seem to be on the Steelers radar in one capacity or another.
Despite not yet signing free agent cornerback Ike Taylor, Ed Bouchette told 93.7 The Fan that he thinks in the end Taylor will be a Steeler next year.
Sports Illustrated reported that NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith said Wednesday that an 18-game season is off the negotiating table in collective bargaining agreement talks with the owners.

The Old Spice Ben Roethlisberger Football Camp will open today for a half-day session with the camp running through Wednesday at Mars Area High School
Steelers running back Carey Davis threw out the first pitch of the State College Spikes Sunday game and also signed autographs for the fans. Davis days still may be numbered in a Steeler uniform.
Steelers.com has posted part 2 of the Ask Ziggy Hood segment. Hood compares himself to Tommie Harris of the Chicago Bears and teammate Aaron Smith.
