Peyton Manning also has a cameo as the referee that pokes fun of the Thanksgiving coin toss debacle against the Detroit Lions back on on November 26, 1998. Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis, cornerback Jack Butler, center Dermontti Dawson and linebacker Kevin Greene are among the 17 finalists to be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame when the Hall’s Selection Committee meets in Indianapolis on Saturday, Feb. 4. Pittsburgh Steelers defensive captain James Farrior joined Jim Rome on his radio show today for an interview and he was asked about the suspension of fellow linebacker James Harrison, and if he thought the team needed to change the way they play going forward. 26 modern-era semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2012 were announced on Tuesday and the list includes four former Steelers players. Making the cut were running back Jerome Bettis, center Dermontti Dawson, linebacker/defensive end Kevin Greene and safety Donnie Shell. Jack Butler also remains a senior candidate finalist. Cowher, Dawson & Bettis Nominees For 2012 Hall Of Fame Class

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced this afternoon that former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher, center Dermontti Dawson and running back Jerome Bettis are among the 103 modern-day nominees for the 2012 Hall of Fame class. This is the first year that Cowher is eligible after leaving coaching following the 2006 season. The selection committee will next choose 25 candidates from the list who will advance as semifinalist nominees. Here we are three days into training camp and although there has not been much to report on, I figured I would take this time to give a few of my own thoughts of early camp happenings. I am not hopping on the John Clay bandwagon until I see him attempt to do the little things needed to contribute. There is plenty of film on him running through big holes and some more of him fumbling, but there is not much else.
