Buccaneers rookie Cody Grimm will replace Tanard Jackson at the starting free safety position against the Steelers on Sunday, Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris said. If the last name sounds familiar, it is because he is indeed the son of Hall of Fame offensive lineman and former Steelers and Cardinals assistant coach Russ Grimm.

Many folks do not like Mike Florio, but yet all of them visit his site at ProFootballTalk.com. Florio gave an excellent interview on the LaVar and Dukes radio show defending social media and small bloggers everywhere in light of the Mike Wise fiasco. Make sure to listen to the first two audio podcast. Speaking of Wise, the Washington Post sportswriter and columnist was suspended Tuesday for one month for his hoax.

Steelers rookie Maurkice Pouncey thinks he may get his first action on Saturday against Detroit at center in relief of Justin Hartwig or Doug Legursky. Tomlin did say thought that Pouncey will see time at both center and right guard during the game.

Dick LeBeau says it still has not sank in that in little over a week from now, he will be National Football League as a Hall of Famer. LeBeau on Tuesday, “It really hasn’t and I don’t know when it will. I still get up in the morning and pinch myself and count my blessings and say I guess I am not dreaming, I guess this is all really happening. We all look forward to his speech. Tom Kowalski has a small piece on LeBeau on the Michigan Live website today as well.

I Twittered a link on Saturday about how wide receiver Antwaan Randle El is ready for his second time playing in Pittsburgh. El was at his Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy Saturday morning and said that Redskins owner Dan Snyder was too hands on with the team during his stay in Washington. El also was offered deals from Baltimore and New England, but chose to come back where he started instead.

Cornerback Ike Taylor, who will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2010 season, will not be a holdout when training camp opens, according John Harris, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "Ike is going to honor his contract," said Herman Francois, Taylor's uncle. "That's the way he's been taught. He's going to come to work." It is still early yet, but look for Taylor to be in line behind linebacker LaMarr Woodley as far as a new contract getting done. Also kicker Jeff Reed is looking for a new deal as well.

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu worked with kids attending the Colonial All-Pro Football Camp at William & Mary on Tuesday and said he loves the Steelers being the underdog again. He also goes on to say that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger troubles haven't been a distraction and the Steelers need to get back to playing Steeler football in 2010. The Las Vegas Review-Journal has a great story on rookie running back Frank Summers as he gets ready to head to his first NFL training camp. Summers reportedly struggled to pick up the playbook in minicamp because the terminology was much different from what he was used to in college. The work ethic is there though for Summers. Frank the Tank will be a popular guy at training camp with the fans.
Some odds makers are reporting that the Steelers may be a landing place for Michael Vick, but Vinnie Iyer of the Sporting News gives a more realistic look at teams interest in Vick around the league.

Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians claims the offensive line only gave up 19 sacks last year of the 46 suffered, "Running backs, tight ends, receivers and quarterbacks gave up most of the rest. Those guys, every time there’s a sack it has to be the offensive linemen but a lot of times it was a receiver missing the hot read, the quarterback getting himself sacked a few times, because he likes to run around. We’re not going to change that.", said Arians.

Once Dan Rooney is confirmed by the Senate as United States Ambassador to Ireland, he will reportedly step down as chairman of the Steelers.
