I missed this on Monday, but according to Gerry Dulac, some players did not get the defensive call on the Willis McGahee TD run that tied the score at 7-7. We are winding down our coverage of the week 1 game versus the Falcons and are finishing up a few more items, but wanted to make sure to post the defensive participation chart of the game. What sicks out the most is the fact that James Farrior and Lawrence Timmons played every snap at the inside linebacking spots. I really expected to see Larry Foote spelling one of them every now and again, but there was no need. We are down to 53 players on the Steelers active roster after the cuts made this afternoon and assuming the Steelers do not make any other add and drops from the waiver wire, I thought it would be fun to take a real early look at who likely will not dress week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday. The drama of this week is over before it ever got started, as according to Post Gazette beat writer Ed Bouchette, linebacker Lawrence Timmons told a group of reporters on Monday that free safety Ryan Clark will sit out this weeks preseason game in Denver as a precaution.
