Not surprisingly, It was announced yesterday that the Green Bay Packers named Tom Clements their new offensive coordinator. Clements had been the Packers quarterbacks coach since 2006 and was the obvious choice to replace Joe Philbin, who left to become the head coach of the Miami Dolphins after the 2011 season.
Clements, who previously served as the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks coach under Bill Cowher from 2001-2004, was instantly considered a candidate to come back to Pittsburgh to be the new offensive coordinator, should he not get promoted by the Packers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost offensive assistant Harold Goodwin on Tuesday to the Indianapolis Colts as he was named the teams new offensive line coach and they could also still be in line to lose defensive assistant Jerry Olsavsky as well.
Gerry Dulac is reporting via Twitter this afternoon that Olsavsky is interviewing with the Miami Dolphins Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Dulac has updated his story to say it was not the Dolphins, but the Buccaneers) to become the teams new linebackers coach. It was reported on Tuesday that the Steelers had granted permission to Olsavsky to interview with other teams

I am a football junkie and have been since about the age of 4 according to my parents. I am also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan that grew up in the deep south during the 1970's and 1980's as well and was always starved for any and all Steelers football that I could get my eyes on. The game of football captivated me as a child and I can remember reading the Monday morning box scores of all the games and reciting statistics of all my favorite Steelers players at a moments notice. I knew who all of the NFL teams were and all of the great players on each of those teams. Like I said, I was and still am a

The Pittsburgh Steelers had five players in the 2012 Pro Bowl game Sunday in Hawaii and all 5 made contributions. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes Sunday to help lead the AFC to a 59-41 win over the NFC in the annual NFL All-Star game.
In addition to the two touchdowns, Roethlisberger completed 6-of-11 passes for 181 yards as he started the game at quarterback for the AFC squad. He connected with Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green for a 34-yard touchdown for the AFC’s first points of the game and found Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall for a 74-yard

Scott Brown reports on Twitter this morning that Pittsburgh Steelers veteran defensive end Aaron Smith told reporters this morning that he is completely healthy following the spinal-fusion surgery that he had back in November and that he could play tomorrow if he could. According to Brown he also said that he will decide after the season whether or not he will return in 2012 for his 14th season. He also added that if he indeed does return, it would only be with Steelers as he can't see himself playing anywhere else, and that if were to do that, it would "taint" his career.
Smith came into the

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns 13-9 today in Cleveland and will travel to Denver next week to take on the Denver Broncos in one of the two AFC wild card games. Despite the win, the Steelers did not get the help they needed from the Cincinnati Bengals to capture the AFC North as the Bengals lost to the Baltimore Ravens 24-16. The Ravens win means they have won the AFC North and the #2 seed in the AFC. The New England Patriots are the #1 seed after they beat the Buffalo Bills today.
The Broncos won the AFC West despite losing 7-3 to the Kansas City Chiefs today as the Oakland

I have compiled the Adjusted Net Yards Per Passing Attempt Differential Stats now through week 16 and the Pittsburgh Steelers have slipped down to 4th place in net differential behind the Detroit Lions, who shot up 0.29 this past week in their win over the San Diego Chargers. The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets were the two biggest sliders this week as the Cowboys slipped -0.47 in differential this week while the Jets dropped -0.45 in the stat. Despite their come from behind win over the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, the New England Patriots also slipped -0.25 in differential this past week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers took care of the St. Louis Rams today at Heinz Field, but only received some possible future help in week 16 from the Indianapolis Colts Thursday night as they knocked off the Houston Texans with a last second touchdown.
Heading into today, the Steelers needed to beat the Rams and hope that the Cleveland Browns could some how knock off the Baltimore Ravens to take the lead in the AFC North division. The Ravens held a 20-0 lead over the Browns, but let them back into the game in the 4th quarter. The Browns closed within 6 points with 8:30 left in the game, but they could

Jon Linder of WQAM in Miami, Florida, told me tonight via Twitter that he talked to Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey today and asked him about the injury status of his twin bother, Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, and Mike told him, "I think my brother's gonna have to sit out this week."
Maurkice injured his left ankle in the first half of the Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns. At first Maurkice did not want to come out of the game, but eventually did. He did not return for the second half and Doug Legursky was forced to move over from left guard to center the rest

Despite their win last Sunday night against the Chiefs, the Steelers received almost no help in the other week 12 games to get some separation as far as the 2011 playoff picture goes. The Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Patriots, Raiders and Titans all won, and unfortunately the Bills did not knock off the Jets. The Steelers can certainly knock the Bengals out of the AFC North race with a win against them on Sunday, but let's look at a few other games in week 13 that could certainly help the Steelers inch even close to a playoff birth.
Browns Over Ravens - Yes, this one is an obvious one, but we have

The Steelers are of course enjoying their bye week in week 11, but there is still a good chance they could retain the lead the AFC North division by the end of the early games. There will be a few other games that could go the Steelers way today that could help down the line and below is the wish list for week 11.
Bengals over Ravens - This is pretty straight forward here as should the Bengals find a way to knock off the Ravens today, the Steelers will sit atop the AFC North after being down 2 games following their week 9 loss to the Ravens.
Falcons over Titans - The Titans could eventually
