Former Steelers great and Hall of Famer Rod Woodson joined 93.7 The Fan to talk about his experience playing in the Super Bowl, the game Sunday and Bill Belichick. Joe Greene also called in to talk about how difficult it is for him to be in Indianapolis without the Steelers playing.

Pittsburgh Steelers president and co-owner Art Rooney II talked to the Pittsburgh media today and beat writers Ed Bouchette, Scott Brown and Mike Bires are all relaying the conversation via Twitter for us and I will recap those Tweets below.
Rooney II said today that his father Dan Rooney to step down as the Irish Ambassador and rejoin the team in 2012. He also told the reporters that they will add 3,000 seats to Heinz Field after the 2012 season.
As far as potential moves go during the offseason, Rooney II called wide receiver Hines Ward an "all-time" Steelers great and hopefully a future

Peter King wrote in his MMQB piece how the New York Giants would have been fine drafting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger if San Diego Chargers GM A.J. Smith had played hardball with then-Giants GM Ernie Accorsi as the clock wound down on the fourth overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft.
Hines Ward was on NFL Total Access yesterday and talked about losing to the Denver Broncos and how he still wants to continue to play for the Steelers.

Jon Linder of WQAM in Miami, Florida, told me tonight via Twitter that he talked to Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey today and asked him about the injury status of his twin bother, Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, and Mike told him, "I think my brother's gonna have to sit out this week."
Maurkice injured his left ankle in the first half of the Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns. At first Maurkice did not want to come out of the game, but eventually did. He did not return for the second half and Doug Legursky was forced to move over from left guard to center the rest

Mike Bires is reporting via Twitter that wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who replaced Antonio Brown as the Steelers kickoff return man against the Chiefs Sunday night, told reporters today that he'll do it again Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Sanders returned 4 kickoffs against the Chiefs for 77 yards Sunday night and Brown only had one fair catch on 3 punt return opportunities.
It seems that head coach Mike Tomlin will let Sanders have the kickoff return duties for the time being and pretty much said as such on Tuesday during his press conference.
As far as the recovery of the

Nick Richetta sat in for David Todd on the latest episode of The Terrible Podcast and we previewed the New England Patriots game in depth.
Ed Bouchette writes that the slow start that Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has gotten off to might cost him when it comes time to talk contract extension. In my opinion, there is no guarantee he gets extended prior to the start of the 2012 season.

Mike Bires is reporting via Twitter that Steelers guard Doug Legursky is in a walking boot today after reportedly suffering a dislocated toe yesterday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Legursky injured the toe on his left foot on the first play of the second quarter and needed assistance getting off the field. He was next seen on the trainers table and never returned to the game. He was replaced at left guard by Trai Essex.
Legursky was making his second straight start in place of injured starter Chris Kemoeatu, who missed his second straight game with his knee problem. Mike Tomlin did not expand

Mike Bires is reporting via Twitter today that Steelers linebacker James Farrior has been fined $15,000 this week for his late hit on Colts quarterback Kerry Collins Sunday night. The hit by Farrior was likely responsible for knocking Collins out of the game with a concussion. Farrior was not penalized on the play.
Farrior makes the second Steelers player fined this past week as wide receiver Antonio Brown was also fined $7,500 for a low block late in the second quarter while Colts safety Joe Lefeged was returning a Ben Roethlisberger interception. Unlike Farrior, Brown was penalized on the

Steelers beat writers Mike Bires and Mark Kaboly reported via Twitter this afternoon that practice squad tackle Trevis Turner has a good chance of being promoted to the active roster this week due to the injuries on the offensive line. Both left tackle Jonathan Scott and right guard Doug Legursky both seem doubtful this week due to injuries suffered Sunday night against the Colts. Both sat out practice again on Thursday. Scott reportedly has a high ankle sprain while Legursky is battling a left shoulder injury. As it stands right now, Trai Essex would likely get the start at left tackle with Ramon

Ben Roethlisberger talked to the media on Tuesday and Scott Brown noted how he responded carefully when asked about the NFL's personal conduct policy as it relates to the recent news that Patriots defensive end Albert Haynesworth will not be suspended initially by Roger Goodell after pleading no contest to simple assault charge. Bouchette also held his Tuesday Steelers chat and you can read the transcript here.
Mike Bires gives his thoughts on running back Willie Parker and how his return to the Steelers is not going to happen. Bires calls it wishful thinking on Parker's part and I have to agree with him as well on this.
