Numbers Crunch: Recent History Of Steelers Draft Picks Making The Roster

By Alex Kozora At our eternally optimistic core, every Pittsburgh Steelers’ fan believes their yearly group of draft picks can be successful. That even late rounders could become the “diamond in the rough”, their selection lauded about for years to come. But of course, that isn’t always the case. There are only 53 spots on […]

Steelers Draft History Under Tomlin – Outside Linebacker

With the 2014 NFL Draft coming up in a bit, and having finished taking stock of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster, it’s now time to look back and see how the team assembled the roster they currently have through the draft. It would be most simple to set a dividing line at 2007, the year Mike […]

Steelers Sixth Round Draft Pick History Under Kevin Colbert

The NFL announced on Monday from the 2013 NFL owners meetings that the Pittsburgh Steelers received a sixth-round compensatory draft pick for the upcoming 2013 NFL draft. With that pick now official, the Steelers will have two picks in the sixth round baring them trading their original one away during the draft. I thought that […]

The 3,113 Snap Steelers Draft Class Of 2008 Is No More

When safety Ryan Mundy signed with the New York Giants on Thursday, it guaranteed that the 2008 draft class of the Pittsburgh Steelers is all gone nearly six years after they were drafted. Most of that class has been gone for a while, as Mundy and running back Rashard Mendenhall were the only two remaining […]

Weak Steelers Defensive Drafts The Real Cause For Turnover-Impotence?

By Jeremy Hritz While it is too early to be overly concerned about the Steelers opening day loss to the Denver Broncos, an 0-2 record following the matchup with the New York Jets would assuredly trip the alarms. While not quite exactly as abysmal as last year’s opening day thrashing, the 31-19 loss in Denver […]

Baron Batch Is The Pittsburgh Steelers\’ Very Own Tim Tebow

By Cian Fahey Over the past few years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been very fortunate with their late round draft picks and undrafted free agent pickups. Steelers Linebacker Measurables Over The Years Compared To 2012 Top Linebackers

I was doing some research on measurables of linebackers that the Pittsburgh Steelers have drafted over the years just for comparison purposes and I figured I would go ahead and make a post out of the results and add in the top linebackers this year for comparison purposes. Let me disclaimer here that combine and […]

Fireworks Unlikely For Steelers At Midnight

As free agency officially begins at midnight tonight, the Steelers will likely be on the sidelines watching all of the action. A salary cap report earlier in the day by Adam Schefter said the Steelers were only $7,400,000.00 under the $127,000,000.00 salary cap. My Steelers salary cap estimation has them at $9,476,280.00 under the cap […]

Steelers 2008 Draft Starting To Show Bust Characteristics

The 2008 Steelers draft is looking mighty disappointing over half way through the season. Wide receiver Limas Sweed is the only one of seven draft picks to make any contribution, albeit not much. Sweed is just not catching on quick enough and nearly cost the Steelers dearly on a punt Thursday night. Right now he […]
