Kevin Colbert loves value and especially so with his first round selections. Below is a quick history of the first rounders he has drafted since taking over in 2000 and the positional value those players offered. At the end I offer up a few players that fit the mold as both positional values that also fit perhaps a need. This is an exercise of positional value only, so don’t get too upset.

Georgia State investigators and Milledgeville police have completed their month-long probe of sexual assault allegations against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Ocmulgee Judicial Court District Attorney, Frederic D. Bright, said on Wednesday he is reviewing the findings, but would not say when he might decide whether charges should be filed. Everyone keep your fingers crossed.

The Steelers will begin to bring 2010 draft prospects in for pre draft visits starting next week. NFL teams are allowed to host 30 non local prospects prior to the draft. Below is a running list of players we have confirmed have been scheduled for visits as of today. We will use this as our official Steelers pre draft visit list and will update this as the visits happen or more are announced.

The Steelers will find out Tuesday how many compensatory picks they will receive in this year's draft. You can view my projections I did on our picks a while ago as they are expected to receive picks for losing wide receiver Nate Washington, cornerback Bryant McFadden and quarterback Byron Leftwich in free agency last year.
Not surprising in the least is that the word came out on Sunday that the Steelers have a pre draft visit set with Idaho guard Mike Iupati. Iupati will be a popular guy prior to the draft as several teams will have him as one of their 30 players to visit with.

Unrestricted free agent Ryan Clark was not tagged yesterday, but the Steelers are working on getting him signed still if the numbers are right. Joel Turner, Clark's agent, claims Clark is offering a hometown discount of sorts to stay in Pittsburgh.
The Texans and the Falcons had a coin flip this morning to decide who would pick after the Steelers in round 1. The Falcons won and will pick 19th, while the Texans will pick 20th in the first round.
