Steelers Six From Around The Web – January 17th – Roethlisberger Almost A Giant Edition

Peter King wrote in his MMQB piece how the New York Giants would have been fine drafting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger if San Diego Chargers GM A.J. Smith had played hardball with then-Giants GM Ernie Accorsi as the clock wound down on the fourth overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft. Hines Ward was on NFL Total Access yesterday and talked about losing to the Denver Broncos and how he still wants to continue to play for the Steelers. Tackle Marcus Gilbert talked with Teresa Varley of Steelers.com at the end of the season about what he learned his rookie season. Mike Bires asked wide receiver Read more [...]

Roethlisberger Says Everyone Wanted To Jump On Hater Bandwagon After Week 1

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was interviewed by Lindsay Soto tonight on NFL Total Access and here are a few excerpts from that interview. You can see the complete interview here on nfl.com. Soto: How do you maximize the time off this week? Roethlisberger: Well, really it’s about relaxing and not doing anything and just letting your body heal. This is probably one of the latest by weeks that I can ever remember, but I guess we would rather have it now than like week 3 or 4, so it comes at a good time for us because we some nicks here and there and some guys that are banged up so Read more [...]

Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was on 93.7 The Fan yesterday morning to talk about the win over the Jaguars and the adjustments that offensive coordinator Bruce Arians made to the gameplan after the Jaguars started to role more coverage to Mike Wallace. Steelers Six From Around The Web – September 7th – Polamalu Talks Likely Just Talk Edition

Ed Bouchette reports that contract extension negotiations with Troy Polamalu are ongoing, but I warn everyone not to get their hopes up that an extension will be reached by Sunday. The Steelers do not do contracts during the season typically, but Polamalu might be an exception to the rule. I am not saying it will not happen by Sunday, but I now see it as highly unlikely. EA Sports has run their Madden NFL 12 regular season simulation and have the Steelers going 13-3 this year. They have Rashard Mendenhall rushing for 1350 yards with 10 touchdowns. LaMarr Woodley with 10.5 sacks and Polamalu Read more [...]

Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was a guest analyst this evening on NFL Total Access and was asked by host Rich Eisen how much longer he would like to play.
