Ben Roethlisberger Interview To Air Tonight On NFL Network

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will have a taped interview that was done with him shown Friday on NFL Total Access. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. eastern. Roethlisberger and the rest of the team are on a bye this week but practiced on Tuesday and Wednesday before being turned loose for the rest of the week. Roethlisberger fractured the thumb on his throwing hand sometime during the Steelers 24-17 win over the Bengals on Sunday. Ed Bouchette reports that contract extension negotiations with Troy Polamalu are ongoing, but I warn everyone not to get their hopes up that an extension will be reached by Sunday. The Steelers do not do contracts during the season typically, but Polamalu might be an exception to the rule. I am not saying it will not happen by Sunday, but I now see it as highly unlikely. Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason is the latest to chime in on the Steelers-Ravens offseason smack talk when he tweeted in the direction of Steelers safety Ryan Clark yesterday. Wednesday Mike Tomlin joined Johnny D and The 757 Club of 1490 AM the Game in Virginia Beach for a short interview and Tomlin danced around the question if the Steelers had interest in Tiki Barber and Plaxico Burress. Tomlin said, “I don’t know the status of those two guys and I don’t worry about what’s said in the media in terms of potential free agents. That’s not my bag, man.
