Cornerback Ike Taylor, who will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2010 season, will not be a holdout when training camp opens, according John Harris, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "Ike is going to honor his contract," said Herman Francois, Taylor's uncle. "That's the way he's been taught. He's going to come to work." It is still early yet, but look for Taylor to be in line behind linebacker LaMarr Woodley as far as a new contract getting done. Also kicker Jeff Reed is looking for a new deal as well.
Speaking of LaMarr Woodley he has been profiled by Sean Conboy in the July 2010 issue of Pittsburgh Magazine.
Although I do not have the time to play Madden, I always enjoy looking at the player ratings every year when they are released. Here are the Steelers Madden 11 player ratings.

Jim Wexell has a new player snapshot write up on rookie inside linebacker Stevenson Sylvester on SteelCityInsider.net. Sylvester has been learning the mack inside position this Spring and getting some mentoring from veteran James Farrior along the way. On the same site, Craig Wolfley explains just how big of loss right tackle Willie Colon will be.
The Steelers came in 12th overall in the 32 teams in 32 days segment on NFL.com. Jamie Dukes and Charles Davis take a little closer look at how they think the Steelers will look this year on NFL Total Access. Davis thinks Dennis Dixon should be given the chance to start instead of Byron Leftwich during the suspension of Ben Roethlisberger.
Two more segments of Ask The Steelers have been posted on Steeelers.com with part 3's of both Antwaan Randle El and Emmanuel Sanders being posted for your reading pleasure.

The kids attending Coach Mike Tomlin's youth football camp at Mars Area High School got a surprise visit from Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on Wednesday. While it was most definitely a great PR move by Big Ben, he made it clear that it's his intention to be back next year as well. Little things like this will add up over time and restore his character to the fans and the team.
Hines Ward chatted with NFL Total Access host Rich Eisen on Wednesday about his experience at NFL Broadcast Boot Camp and how the Steelers have taken to Big Ben. Ward though did say, "A lot of players really don't know the situation, other than what we hear in the news or the media," Ward said. "I think when he addresses the whole team going into training camp, we can all put it behind us and move forward." It sounds like Ward expects Roethlisberger to address the whole team going into training camp about the whole situation. Time will tell.
Erika Esola has a great article on second year cornerback Joe Burnett and his roots in Lake County Florida. Burnett also talks about the temptation he had to leave UCF a year earlier for the NFL, but opted to stay his senior year instead.

Steelers rookie wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders gave a candid radio interview to the 93.7 The Fan Morning show on Wednesday. Sanders is chomping at the bit to be a key contributor for the Steelers and in the middle of daily five-hour workouts with the Steelers trainer. He really sounds excited and like a good kid. I can not wait to see how he does at training camp.
Steelers receiver Antwaan Randle El had some strong comments on the Redskins and their dealings with defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth. El claims they asked him about Haynesworth before signing him last season. You can listen to more below from the The Mike Wise Show.

Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley has shown up on both Facebook and Twitter now. Make sure to follow him at both places and Steelers Depot as well on Twitter and Facebook, while you are it.
Jason La Canfora speculates that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could have a sit down type interview with Oprah Winfrey or Larry King to get all of the laundry aired out before training camp. I think the Winfrey or King angle is a bit over the top myself, but perhaps a Jim Gray or Jeremy Schaap taped interview would be more in line. Roethlisberger only took two of the many questions the media had on Thursday.
Ed Bouchette says that quarterback Dennis Dixon has not practiced with the first team much of any and it has become obvious that Byron Leftwich will open the season as the starting quarterback. The Steelers have three spring practices left on the schedule, but one day is a bowling outing and another is the Tomlin-era tradition of "hat day".
Kicker Jeff Reed disclosed on Thursday that like Roethlisberger, he too underwent an NFL-mandated psychological evaluation after police charged him with four misdemeanors last October. Reed did not reveal details of the process or his evaluation. Kicking wise, Reed says he is limiting his reps and will now take a week off and then get back into a routine and be ready for training camp.

Former Steelers running back Merrill Hoge is helping players at all levels get ahead of curve on head injuries. Hoge has become quite educated on brain injuries and spoke this past week at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Washington at an all-day symposium on head injuries. Hoge continues to also work with USA Football to inform players at all levels about the severity of these types of injuries. Good to see Hoge get on with his "lifes work" as Chuck Noll use to call it.
Yesterday on NFL Total Access, Warren Sapp analyzed Steelers outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley and his technique in this edition of Sapp Hunters. During the introduction of the segment, Jason La Canfora stated he believes a new deal gets done with Woodley to keep him in Pittsburgh after this season. Woodley is in his final year of his contract and facing the 30% rule as the biggest obstacle in getting a deal done before training camp. Rest assured the Steelers and Omar Khan will get this worked out.
Inside linebacker Larry Foote joined 93.7 the Fans Vinnie and Cook for an interview on Thursday and stated how happy he is to be back in Pittsburgh and also gave his reaction to Ben’s comments after practice on Thursday.
The Post-Gazette reports that the four Rooney brothers signed papers on Monday to sell all or part of their ownership in the Steelers to the new investment group headed by their brother Dan Rooney and his son Art. The closing of the deal should occur within two weeks or so.
Ben Roethlisberger's accuser never filed rape allegation with sheriff's office to investigate. This is just a money hungry bitch and you can't blame Ben canceling his press conference as to let the attorney do his work. The Steelers will not comment on this either and I do not blame them. Nothing to comment on.
