ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine combined to put out list of the 20 current players who a 20-member Pro Football Hall of Fame panel and ESPN's very own John Clayton believe could excel in any era of the NFL. The top 20 was finalized today and four current Pittsburgh Steelers players made the top 10. Finishing 10th was linebacker James Harrison, finishing 8th was wide receiver Hines Ward, finishing 3rd was quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and finishing 2nd was safety Troy Polamalu.
Harrison finished 4th as far as linebackers went behind Patrick Willis (7th), Brian Urlacher (5th) and Ray Lewis (1st).

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com continued his campaign against Steelers safety Troy Polamalu on Tuesday in an attempt to justify his article a few weeks back that stated Polamalu is the most overrated player in the league. Prisco appeared as a guest on Trib Live Radio on Tuesday and host John Harris asked him about his overrated Polamalu statement. Listen to the interview here.
Early on in the interview Prisco decides he wants to act like he knows his football and make a case of how Troy gambles and gets away with. Prisco said, "I'll go back to the opener last year against Atlanta. He made the

I wrote Friday about the possibility that free agents Ike Taylor and William Gay could land with the Arizona Cardinals, should they trade cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to the Philadelphia Eagles for Kevin Kolb. Ron Wolfley of 620 KTAR said yesterday thinks Ike would be the perfect guy in the Cardinals system. Pick up the talk on Taylor at around the 13 minute mark below. Ron is the brother of Steelers radio man, Craig Wolfley.

Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons threw out the ceremonial first pitch in his hometown for the Florence RedWolves Friday night and nearly beaned the RedWolves mascot. Timmons played offense and defense back in high school as he actually was a receiver. Watch the first pitch and interview below.
The Peters Township School Board is expected to hire former Steelers linebacker Jason Gildon as the Indians defensive line coach at Monday night's meeting. Gildon has been wanting to get into coaching.

CBSSports.com Senior Writer Pete Prisco named Steelers safety Troy Polamalu the league's most-overrated player on Thursday so I think it deserves a rebuttal by breaking down the post of Prisco.
Prisco states that the Packers exposed Polamalu in the Super Bowl and says he isn't great in coverage. As far as the Super Bowl goes, Polamalu was thrown at just twice according to the play charting on Pro Football Focus and yes both passes were caught with one going for a touchdown. The fault of the touchdown can be disputed though and even Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau said just this week

Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley was a busy man yesterday and did a great job on NFL Total Access and you can watch most of the video clips here. Woodley says he did not vote in the Top 100 Players of 2011 the NFL Network is running and told fans during a live chat yesterday that he thinks he should have been rated better than 82 and that the Steelers were underrepresented on the list in addition.
Woodley laid down the smack hard on the Bengals and the Ravens as he was asked about the Bengals outlook without Carson Palmer and the Ravens chances of going to a Super Bowl with Joe Flacco at quarterback

Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com has his post draft grades out and gives the Steelers a B, saying not flashy, but yet another productive draft for the Steelers.
Adam Caplan of Foxsports.com grades the Steelers draft a B and says first three picks have a chance to start as rookies.
Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com graded the Steelers a tad worse with B-, as Prisco praises the first-round pick Cameron Heyward but thinks that the Steelers "reached" in second-rounder Marcus Gilbert.
Just in case you missed the Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin post draft press conference you can watch it here on Steelers.com

CBSSports.com Senior Writer Pete Prisco has put together his list of the Top 100 Current NFL Players over the past few days and it includes 7 Steelers players on it. Anytime you put out one of these list, it is sure to cause a stir as inevitably someone will be left off that is debatable. In the case of the Steelers listed by Prisco though, he seems to have nailed it as far as players on the list. One might argue that Hines Ward and Rashard Mendenhall belong in the top 100, but as Prisco notes at the end, Mendenhall just missed the cut and I think it is fair that Ward did not make the cut either.
