Wide receiver Plaxico Burress was released from the Oneida Correctional Facility in upstate New York today after serving a 20 month sentence for illegally carrying and firing a gun at a Manhattan nightclub back in 2008. The speculation has been running rampant for several weeks now as to which team Burress will ultimately sign with once the lockout is over. Burress has not played football since late November 2008 and thus has missed the last two full seasons in the process.
The odds maker Bodog released the updated odds today on where they best bet that the soon-to-be 34 year old receiver will

Kevin Colbert loves value and especially so with his first round selections. Below is a quick history of the first rounders he has drafted since taking over in 2000 and the positional value those players offered. At the end I offer up a few players that fit the mold as both positional values that also fit perhaps a need. This is an exercise of positional value only, so don’t get too upset.
2000 - WR Plaxico Burress - This was the first draft for Colbert and after they selected Burress 8th overall, head coach Bill Cowher said they drafted him because they needed a playmaker. Burress was a top

This morning Pittsburgh Tribune sports columnist John Harris posted 20 questions concerning the Steelers that mostly centered around the draft, Ike Taylor, LaMarr Woodley and a few more of the potential free agents. I thought it would be fun to post his questions along with my answers to them on this slow Saturday.
Question 1. If the lockout isn't lifted before April 28 and the Steelers are unable to re-sign unrestricted free agent cornerback Ike Taylor, should they reach for a cornerback in the first round, even if the cornerbacks available at No. 31 don't have first-round ratings?
Answer:

I had a feeling that as soon as I mentioned the Danny Watkins name as an example in my Steelers likely to draft the best player available post, I knew it would get a reaction. Steeler Nation is so afraid to see or hear the name Danny Watkins mentioned anywhere as a pick by the Steelers in a mock draft or even mentioned as a possibly first round target. Why you ask? Watkins is closing in on collecting Social Security. In the land of the 2011 draft class, Danny is Methuselah. I will have to check Wikipedia, but I am pretty sure Methuselah is his middle name. I could be wrong though.
OK, let's

Steeler Nation as usual is divided into 2 camps this morning. Those that see what the Steelers did with Santonio as being a business move made from a business and organizational stand point and those that think the Steelers got robbed on a Sunday night.
How soon everyone decides to ignore the facts amazes me. First, Tone had become a bigger problem. His recent legal Orlando troubles along with a looming alleged 4 game suspension for violating the NFL's Substance Abuse Policy were only starters. His follow up actions are Twitter were embarrassing as well, especially in light of everything that

Ron Cook had a great editorial this morning in the PPG and wrote how he thought that Santonio Holmes likely would not be signed to an extension in the offseason and allowed to possibly walk after the 2010 season. I could very well see this happening as well. As Cook points out, this is the 4th incident since being drafted.
Judging by the latest Tweets by Santonio on his Twitter account, I am sure the Steelers and the Commissioner will not be too thrilled as well. Tone starts off by telling a user "y u tryna make me look like the bad guy. U shud try finding the worst thing that you could drink
