The Pittsburgh Steelers season came to an end Sunday in Denver and now all of the attention turns to the 2012 season, especially as it relates to veteran players on the roster and salary cap concerns as well. One player that will be talked about all offseason is veteran inside linebacker James Farrior. Farrior just finished his 15th season in the NFL and his 10th in a Steelers uniform and there is some speculation that he could possibly retire or end up being a salary cap casualty. I talked to Farrior's agent today, Ralph Cindrich, and asked him if Farrior intends to return for 2012, his Read more [...]
Now that the 2011 NFL Combine is over, players will be performing for scouts and coaches at their pro days. NFL.com has a blog section set up to report on these daily so you can keep up with them. The Lebanon Daily News has a piece on Steve Saunders, the personal trainer of Steelers James Harrison, Hines Ward and Antwaan Randle El. He also trains other big name atheletes as well. Bill Simmons of ESPN wrote an interesting comparative breakdown of the labor talks as it relates to the owners. He uses his himself as a hypothetical scenario to illustrate the greed. Gerry Dulac has a more in depth look at rookie outside linebacker Jason Worilds that includes how he took his mother's last name and why the Steelers selected him over Penn State inside linebacker Sean Lee. Another day, another Jonathan Dwyer story. This time from Scott Brown of the Tribune-Review. Agent Ralph Cindrich posted the story by SportsBusiness Journal on how the NFL and players union differ on the rookie wage scale. A great read that supports both sides. Steelers.com Teresa Varley has a short article on a few Steelers draft picks as they prepare for their first mini-camp that Read more [...]
As Ben Roethlisberger's version of the events that took place in Milledgeville, Ga hit our Twitter account yesterday, it really has not and will not help his cause in my opinion. I hope there is evidence of her falling and hitting her head on her on accord. Every day it seems a new twist comes out that does not help Ben's cause unlike the Nevada case where everything that came out discredited the accuser. A long way to go on this one. The 20-year-old woman who has accused Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault plans on returning to Georgia College and State University Read more [...]
Friend of Steelers Depot and Pittsburgh sports agent, Ralph Cindrich, offered some pretty stern advice to Ben Roethlisberger in regards to his latest allegations. I really do side with Cindrich on this. How do you feel? Cindrich was also on Sirius NFL radio this morning with Randy Cross and Bob Papa talking about the situation as well. Regarding the Roethlisberger situation, Steelers tackle, Willie Colon, is doing his best Sergeant Schultz impersonation saying that he saw nothing while out with Big Ben on his birthday. Colon's agent, Joe Linta, suggest that Willie's name need not be mentioned Read more [...]
TMZ reported this morning that the woman accusing Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault was "hysterical" when she spoke with authorities. This is according to a source at the Milledgeville Police Department. We may not know for a while whether sexual assault charges will be filed against Ben Roethlisberger from his time in Milledgeville, but according to ProFootballTalk.com, Roethlisberger has hired Atlanta defense attorney Ed Garland. Some of Garland’s past clients include Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis and Pacman Jones. That is a list you want no Steelers player associated with. Steelers linebacker Read more [...]
Three-time Pro Bowl Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday will likely becomes an unrestricted free agent at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, and apparently wants to play for the Steelers. "I talked to Jeff after the Super Bowl, and he said if you can get me there, that would be beautiful," said Pittsburgh-based agent Ralph Cindrich. "This is a Rooney-type of guy if ever there was one." Saturday will be willing to switch from center to guard to do so. "He's happy to play guard. He started in the league at guard. He told me, 'I'll play anywhere,' " Cindrich said Tuesday. Cindrich said Saturday compares favorably Read more [...]
