Steelers Six From Around The Web – Thursday June 16th – Three Rivers UFO Edition

The great UFO mystery from the 1979 Steelers Cowboys game at Three Rivers Stadium has been solved as it was only a kite. The aliens were not coming after big headed Roger Staubach like we thought. Nothing more to see here, move along now. Hines Ward said on NFL Total Access yesterday evening that he wants to play until the wheels come off and that likely means two more seasons if he stays healthy. You can watch the sit down here with Rich Eisen. Hines also participated in the live chat on NFL.com on Wednesday and laid a little smack on Baltimore in the process when asked about his thoughts Read more [...]

Hines Ward Wants To Play Until The Wheels Fall Off

Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was a guest analyst this evening on NFL Total Access and was asked by host Rich Eisen how much longer he would like to play. Ward joked initially that he would like to play one year longer than Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis plays, so he can experience what it is like to play the Ravens without #52 on the field. Eisen pressed Ward further for a time frame and Ward said he would do what Deion Sanders suggested he do, and that is to play until the wheels fall off, because once its gone, its gone. Ward says he does not want to leave the game too early and still wonder Read more [...]

Steelers Six From Around The Web – Tuesday March 1st – Get Your Stinkin’ Mind Right Edition

Our rumor about Hines Ward we posted last night has been confirmed. Ward will be on season 12 of Dancing with the Stars. Here is his bio page on the ABC official site. James Walker looks at what the Ike Taylor asking price might be. Taylor will be considered an unrestricted free agent in a few more days, but until the labor situation is solved, there will be no free agency so it buys the Steelers a little time at least. The money Stanford Routt got recently makes you wonder indeed how much Ike could get on the open market. I hope we do not have to find out. Teresa Varley continues her “At Read more [...]

Like them or not, Gerry Dulac of the Post Gazette has his report card from the game last night and looks to be a little kind in a few grades. Steelers Six From Around The Web – Friday October 1st – Legursky May Be New Right Guard Edition

Ed Bouchette thinks the Steelers may want to sign Steve McLendon again from the practice squad if Chris Hoke can not practice again today. The Steelers only have 5 healthy defensive linemen besides Hoke. If McLendon is signed, Bouchette thinks Dennis Dixon will be placed on season ending injured reserve and we agree with him. Scott Brown blogged about how guard Doug Legursky may indeed have won the right guard job from Trai Essex based on the comments of Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. Regardless, it is safe to say Essex will be down this week again with an ankle sprain and Legursky Read more [...]

Steelers Six From Around The Web – Tuesday August 17th – Antonio Brown The New Rod Tidwell Edition

With his animated first-down gestures on Saturday night, rookie wide receiver Antonio Brown has been tagged with a new nickname according to Hines Ward. Ward says his new name is Rod Tidwell, the demonstrative, fictitious wide receiver in the movie Jerry Maguire. Just as long as he does not start screaming, “Show Me The Money” before his rookie three year contract is up, I am fine with it. Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said on Monday he was not happy to see quarterback Dennis Dixon running against the Lions backups Saturday night when he had receivers open. Arians told reporters, “No, because Read more [...]
