Tomorrow's game against the New York Giants will be a huge measuring stick of where exactly the Steelers are in comparison to the rest of the league. The Steelers combined opponents record thus far is 13-24, with no opponent having better than a .500 record. The rest of the schedule starting Sunday has Steeler opponents at a 35-29 record, with four teams having a better than .500 winning percentage. The Steelers have a league-high 25 sacks on defense and are back to their old blitzing ways under defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau. On Sunday the Steelers must put pressure on Giants quarterback Eli

Some very disturbing news this morning as Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana. In June 2006, Holmes was arrested in Ohio in june of 2006 on a domestic violence charge, which was later dismissed. Holmes was also arrested in South Beach, Florida., for disorderly conduct during a Memorial Day weekend crackdown in 2006. Holmes was pulled over on a traffic stop because his vehicle matched the description given in a tip that said a dark-colored large SUV was carrying a large amount of drugs. Police Sergeant R. Griffith said that Holmes's vehicle

The Steelers will get the luxury of paying more attention to Chad Ocho Cinco and T.J. Houshmandzadeh today. They will force the Bengals to prove they can run the ball against a 7 man front. Ryan Fitzpatrick is no Carson Palmer and Chris Perry and Cedric Benson are not world beaters. On offense the Steellers will look to spread the ball around to Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Nate Washington. Heath Miller could have his biggest game of the year if the Bengals attempt to cover him with a linebacker. Mewelde Moore should have space to run all day. This should be an easy day for the Steelers.

On Thursday the big news was that QB Ben Roethlisberger (right shoulder) did not practice for the second straight day with an injured shoulder. Also sitting out on Thursday were, LB Patrick Bailey (hamstring), RB Carey Davis (ankle) and DE Nick Eason (groin) and it is looking more and more like Davis will be out. Game day is here, Steelers corners will isolate the Eagles wide receivers today and Troy Polamalu will spy Eagles running back Brian Westbrook and keep him under 100 total yards. Defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau will scheme just enough to contain quarterback Donovan McNabb. On offense the Steelers will play keep away and running backs Willie Parker and Rashard Mendenhall will combine for over 150 rushing yards. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes will have plenty of working room and will total just under 100 yards receiving. This will be a very close game and the Steelers will pull out a late field

I certainly understand the Steelers sitting Limas Sweed right now because he just is not ready. Right now is a crucial time in his development and thuis far he seems like he has the right attitude. In the world of the TOs and the Ocho Cincos, that is refreshing. This isn't the University of Texas and he is not the big man on campus anymore. Sweed needs to take his time and learn from Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Nate Washington. With so few spots available on game day, I suspect Sweed will remain inactive for quite a while unless an injury strikes. Washington will be a free agant after this
