NFL Network To Broadcast 13 Thursday Night Games In 2012 & It Stinks Of Hypocrisy


NFL commissioner Roger Goodell held his yearly State of the NFL press conference today in Indianapolis and announced that the the NFL Network will broadcast 13 Thursday night games starting in 2012. Goodell also said that all 32 NFL teams will be guaranteed at least one prime time game over the course of the 2012 season. The NFL Network broadcasted eight Thursday night games last season and the new package will start in Week 2 and will run through Week 15 of the 2012 regular season. I was doing some initial research on the Steelers 2011 opponents since the official regular season schedule was released yesterday and have compiled both the offensive and defensive rankings of all of their opponents from the 2010 season as a quick reference to get a better idea of what areas teams they face need to improve in via the draft and free agency as they head into the 2011 season. Last week the Steelers 2011 preseason schedule was released and today we know the dates and times of the Steelers 2011 regular season schedule. The Steelers will play five nationally televised primetime games, it was announced today when the NFL released its 2011 regular season schedule. Now that the Steelers have won the AFC North earlier today we now know what the initial Steelers opponents for the 2011 season that will be on the Steelers schedule. The dates and times will be set in a few more months and there could be 2 more games added depending on when and if a new CBA is agreed upon and there is no lockout. The Steelers have one game left on the 2010 schedule and it will help determine the final 2 opponents on the Steelers 2011 initial schedule. If the Steelers win against the Browns Sunday or the Ravens lose to the Bengals, the Steelers will win the AFC North and will get the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs added to their 2011 schedule. 2010 Steelers Training Camp Schedule

The Steelers announced their 2010 training camp schedule today. The team will report to training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe on July 30th and will hold their first practice on July 31st. All afternoon practices are open and begin at 2:55 p.m. The only night practice will take place August 6th at Latrobe Memorial Stadium. The team breaks camp on August 20th. Chris Mortensen is reporting that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended for four to six games on Wednesday for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. I have heard less, but can not reveal my sources. Regardless, we should know very soon.
