The Steelers will play one nationally televised preseason game and will host the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers at Heinz Field during the 2010 preseason, the team announced Wednesday. The Steelers will open the 2010 preseason at home against the Detroit Lions the weekend of Aug. 13-15. The Steelers announced their 2009 training camp schedule today. The team will report to training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe on July 31st and will hold their first practice on August 1st. All afternoon practices are open and begin at 2:55 p.m. The only night practice will take place Aug. 7 at Latrobe Memorial Stadium. The Baltimore Ravens recently submitted a schedule request to the NFL that their games against in Steelers in 2009 not be nationally televised games. It has become customary that the Super Bowl champion open up the following NFL season with a prime-time, nationally televised game, but the Ravens want no part of it. The Ravens have played primetime games at Pittsburgh three of the past four seasons and have lost three times.
