The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field on Thursday as they continue to prepare the Cleveland Browns this Sunday on the road in Cleveland. The Steelers look to move to 12-4 on the season with a win in their final 2011 regular season game. The Thursday injury report is out now and it shows that guard Doug Legursky (shioulder), running back Mewelde Moore (knee) and safety Troy Polamalu (knee) all did not practice again today. The Pittsburgh Steelers hit the field on Wednesday in preparation for their week 17 game this coming Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. The first injury report of the week has been released and it shows that linebacker James Harrison (neck), guard Doug Legursky (shioulder), running back Mewelde Moore (knee) and safety Troy Polamalu (knee) all did not practice today. I am already over the one game suspension that the league handed down today to Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison for his helmet-to-helmet hit Thursday night on Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy. It is what it is and it is time to move on from it. Right now I am most concerned about the ankle injury suffered by Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the game against Browns and the effects of it moving forward. Scott Brown is reporting via Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was not at practice today for the Steelers as they started their preparations for their Monday night game against the San Francisco 49ers. Roethlisberger is still in a walking boot, according to Brown, but was at the practice facility today. His teammates are saying that they expect he will play Monday night. Ben Roethlisberger & Maurkice Pouncey MRI Results Described As Not Good

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and center Maurkice Pouncey both had their MRI test done Friday on their injured ankles and the results on both were not deemed to be Grade 3 sprains, but high ankle sprains instead according to Gerry Dulac. Dulac says the injuries are “not good” according to his source. Both players are currently in walking boots and will likely wear them way into early next week. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left the game tonight in the second quarter against Cleveland Browns with ankle injury following a sack. Roethlisberger’s left ankle appeared to get pinned underneath after getting hit by Brian Schaefering and Scott Paxson of the Browns. Roethlisberger had to be helped off the field and went immediately to the Steelers locker room for examination and X-rays. The X-rays are being reported as negative. Yesterday was an incredible win by the Steelers and it might end up being one of the most significant wins of the season when we get to December. The Steelers released 10 players from their preseason roster today in an effort to get down to the NFL’s 53-man limit for the regular season. None of the players released were surprising cuts as TE Eugene Bright, G Dorian Brooks, T Kyle Jolly, WR Brandon London, TE Sean McHugh, DT Scott Paxson, LS Matt Stewart, S Justin Thornton, RB Justin Vincent and LB Renauld Williams were all released. The Steelers trimmed down to 75 players on Tuesday morning and now will need to cut 21 more by September 4th. Why 21 and not 22 you ask? The Steelers signed 9 players to their offseason roster on Thursday including 7 players that were on that ended the season on the practice squasd. Those players were; TE Eugene Bright, WR Jason Chery, S Tuff Harris, DT Steve McClendon, RB Isaac Redman, RB Justin Vincent and LB Johnny Williams. Following the upcoming NFL draft the Steelers will begin the process of signing the draft picks. As those draft picks sign, the likelihood of their salary counting against the top 51 salaried players begins. At the current time, the Steelers are right up against the cap limit of $127,000,00.00, thus some players will need to be released that are currently in the top 51 salaries.
