Jeff Reed Back In Pittsburgh, Friend Leaves Penguins Game On Flat Board


Former Steelers kicker Jeff Reed was back in Pittsburgh Friday and spotted down at the Steelers facility visiting a few of his former teammates earlier in the day. Gerry Dulac reported this afternoon that Reed was not in for a workout. That is not where the Reed news ends today however as Reed went to the Penguins hockey game tonight and reportedly ended up having to leave early as a buddy he was with stood on a chair, fell off, knocked himself out and was taken out on a body board by medics. July 15 Deadline Arrives With No New Deal For Jeff Reed

Today may seen like a normal offseason Friday, but July 15th is the deadline for franchise tag players to have new deals signed or they must play for the one-year tender amount offered by the team. Such is the case with kicker Jeff Reed who was given the franchise tag in February to keep the eight-year veteran from becoming an unrestricted free agent. Jeff Reed Pleads Guilty, Fined

Steelers kicker Jeff Reed pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after police said he damaged a paper towel dispenser and harassed employees at a Sheetz convenience store early Sunday. Witnesses had told police that Reed went into the store bathroom and then became irate that there were no paper towels in the towel dispenser. He began banging on the towel dispenser and shouting profanities at the store employees, even after leaving the store. Jeff Reed Has Run In With Empty Paper Towel Holder

Steelers kicker Jeff Reed has been charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after throwing a temper tantrum over an empty paper towel machine at at Sheetz convenience store in New Alexandria borough shortly before 3 a.m. Reed found that the paper towel holder in the bathroom was empty and started banging from inside the bathroom. Reed damaged the paper towel holder. After leaving the bathroom, Reed cussed out store employee using very profane language. He continued to use profane language outside the store, police said.
