The Pittsburgh Steelers have given permission to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to interview defensive assistant Jerry Olsavsky according to Steelers Digest. In addition to Olsavsky, the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears have been given permission to interview offensive assistant Harold Goodwin as well. Olsavsky joined the Steelers staff in January of 2010 to serve as the defensive assistant and replaced Lou Spanos. Jason La Canfora is reporting tonight via Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has made inquiries into former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley and former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, presumably for the open offensive coordinator position with the Steelers. Adam Schefter is reporting tonight that former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell plans to join the Baltimore Ravens staff this upcoming week, likely as the quarterbacks coach. While it is not official yet, the Green Bay Packers are expected to promote quarterback coach Tom Clements to offensive coordinator according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The Packers previous offensive coordinator, Joe Philbin, was named head coach of the Miami Dolphins on Friday. The news officially broke this morning that Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians will not be back in 2012 according to a statement by head coach Mike Tomlin. Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson was badly burned in a house fire in Seven Fields, Butler County according to WPXI TV. He was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital and there is no word on his condition. The house fire reportedly started shortly before 3 a.m. on Friday. Wilson was hired on Jan. 29, 2007, came to Pittsburgh with 19 years of coaching experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that have fired head coach Raheem Morris after three seasons as head coach with the team. Morris led the Buccaneers to 10-6 record in his season, but the team went backwards this year as they lost their final 10 games to finish at 4-12. Morris was 17-31 in his 3 seasons as a head coach and he had been on the Buccaneers staff since 2007, his second stint with the team, and was with the Buccaneers before that from 2002-2005 as a defensive assistant. The Pittsburgh Steelers week 17 game next Sunday against the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland has had a time change. The game has been moved from a 1:00 p.m. EST kickoff to 4:15 p.m. EST start time. Mark Kaboly is reporting via Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers starting right outside linebacker James Harrison is now back at the Steelers facility following his one week suspension for hitting Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy helmet-to-helmet back in week 14. The suspension to Harrison was handed down last Tuesday and Harrison has not been allowed at the Steelers facility for a week. Harrison appealed the suspension, but it was denied.
