This game might be more important to the Steelers than it is the Ravens because a loss by the Steelers almost assures them not winning the AFC North division. If the Ravens lose, they are just one game back, where as if the Steelers lose, they are two back on head-to-head tie breakers The Steelers lost in week 4 on a last minute touchdown by wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the Steelers offense blew a chance to put the Ravens away late bin the game by committing crucial penalties and failing to convert just one more first down to run out the clock. This will be a measuring stick for the Steelers Read more [...]
The month of November has started much like the November last season. After whipping the Broncos in week 9 last year, the Steelers returned home to lay an egg against the division rival Bengals to fall to 6-3 through 9 games. Things were still looking rosy at the time as the Steelers had the Chiefs, Ravens, Raiders and Browns as their next 4 opponents and surely they would rebound from the Bengal loss and go 3-1 at the very least in those 4 games. The TO Show has arrived in Cincinnati on Tuesday as free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens signed a one year deal to play for the Bengals in 2010. The Steelers will not have to face former Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the 2009 season, unless Seattle and Pittsburgh both make it to the Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks signed the Bengals free agent receiver on Monday to a five year contract worth $40 million dollar with more than $15 million guaranteed. Houshmandzadeh had 75 catches for 764 yards and 6 touchdowns versus the Steelers in his career with the Bengals.
The Steelers lead the all-time regular season series with the Bengals, 46-30, and have won the last four straight over Cincinnati since last losing a game in the series, at home in 2006. Pittsburgh won 38-10 when the clubs met in Week 7 at Cincinnati, and swept last year's home-and-home. The Steelers come into Week 12 ranked No. 1 in the league in total defense allowing just 237.6 yards per game, rushing defense allowing only 68.9 yards per game, passing defense which has only allowed an average of 168.7 yards per game, 3 yards allowed per carry, rushes surrendered of 20 yards or longer (1), is Read more [...]
