We wanted cornerbacks, we got cornerbacks as the Steelers drafted Curtis Brown and Cortez Allen in the 2011 NFL Draft. Now that the draft is complete, it is time to take an early look at the cornerback situation as it stands today. The Steelers kept 6 corners on the active roster in 2010 and may be forced to keep as many as 7 this year depending on how free agency pans out and how fast the rookies develop.

Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said Tuesday that after his time with the Steelers he will end his career as it is going to be his last job.
Hines Ward and Ike Taylor refuted an online report Tuesday that they headed to a Dallas strip club only hours after landing here for Super Bowl XLV. You read that report from the Dallas News here.
John Clayton of ESPN writes that the Steelers defense is getting better with age.

The Steelers made one roster move on Sunday as they placed safety Tuff Harris on the Waived/Injured List with a shoulder injury and added rookie free agent safety Da’Mon Cromartie-Smith to their training camp roster. Harris was injured Friday night in practice and was on the Steelers’ practice squad in 2009 after previously spending time on the active rosters of the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans from 2007-08. It looks like the Steelers are indeed done with contracts for the offseason and once the season starts, no new deals are likely to be done, especially with the cloudy NFL labor situation. To the best of my calculations, the Steelers have 25 of 81 players on the final year of their current contract. I did not prioritize them below, but it is not hard to pick out those that are high profile moving forward. Those players would be: LaMarr Woodley, Ike Taylor, Jeff Reed and Daniel Sepulveda in my opinion. Dennis Dixon, Willie Colon and Trai Essex are fringe at this point. I have included a blurb on

The Steelers signed 9 players to their offseason roster on Thursday including 7 players that were on that ended the season on the practice squasd. Those players were; TE Eugene Bright, WR Jason Chery, S Tuff Harris, DT Steve McClendon, RB Isaac Redman, RB Justin Vincent and LB Johnny Williams. Also re-signed were second-year defensive tackle Scott Paxson and first-year kicker Piotr Czech to their offseason roster both of who were with the Steelers in training camp this past year.
