Rich Eisen will be having his annual running of the 40 yard dash either today or Tuesday at the NFL combine on NFL Network. If you missed last years run, you can see it here.
Clemson wide receiver Jacoby Ford ran a blistering 4.28-second 40-yard dash on Sunday which was was the second-fastest in combine history (since 2000) and tied former Texan Jerome Mathis (2005) for the fastest ever run by a receiver. You view video of all the top wide receiver runs below.

Former Steelers scout and journalist, Bill Nunn, will be part of a distinguished group of an 11-member inaugural class of the Black College Football Hall of Fame. The induction will be held on Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta.
Starting center Justin Hartwig and reserve safety Ryan Mundy underwent shoulder surgeries since the end of the season, but no other details on the corrective measures were made available.

It is looking like the Browns may be able to keep kick returner Josh Cribbs as significant progress on a new contract has been made. There is no timetable to get the deal done, but both sides are optimistic about his future with the team.

The ESPN segment on the rise of the song Renegade by Styx into Steelers prominence has surfaced on Youtube. It really is a great segment of the history of how it became a Heinz Field staple.
Ex-Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress vows to return to the NFL and said he apologized to the New York Giants for tarnishing the organization in an interview with Bill Cowher that is set to air Sunday on CBS. The interview was done from the upstate New York prison where Burress is currently incarcerated after pleading guilty to attempted weapons possession in the second degree.
Another ex-Steeler making headlines is Joey Porter. Porter is making it known that he wants to be released from the Dolphins and not traded. Porter claims he wants to play out west closer to his family in California. Maybe Steelers West in Arizona? Stay tuned!
Scott Brown and Ed Bouchette both filed stories this morning on Colts offensive coordinator, Tom Moore. Moore was the Steelers wide receivers coach from 1977-1982 and the offensive coordinator from 1983-1989. Some of those years I try to forget.

Super Bowl time produces the best stories for all fans of every NFL team. Such is the case of the Miami Herald catching up with former Steelers backup defensive tackle Gary Dunn. Dunn was a member of the Super Bowl XIII and XIV Steelers teams and now runs an inn and sports pub in the Florida Keys.
According to EA Sports simulation run, the New Orleans Saints will upset the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 35-31 at Super Bowl XLIV. The simulation was run by the award-winning Madden NFL 10 on Xbox 360. Watch the video highlights below.
A reader sent me a link to this great nostalgic video of Super Bowl IX post game trophy presentation and interviews. This was the 1st of 6 championships the Steelers have won. I was almost 7 years old at the time and the video brings back some memories of that day.
Troy Polamalu is back in the Super Bowl again. This time it is in a commercial only as I posted this yesterday but in case you missed it, Polamalu is featured in a truTV Super Bowl commercial in which Troy plays Punxsutawney Polamalu. He sees his shadow and thus 6 more weeks of football are proclaimed. Below is the commercial and under that is the behind the scenes of the making of the Super Bowl ad.
Steeler Nation lost a little angel on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, as Heather Sue Miller passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. Heather visited one of the Steelers mini camps last year. Here is her obituary if you feel compelled to leave a message.

truTV is revealing its first-ever Super Bowl ad today, giving viewers an early glimpse at how the network will bring NFL fans what they've always wanted – six more weeks of football. The Groundhog Day-themed spot features Troy Polamalu and the ad promotes the new truTV series NFL FULL CONTACT, which premieres the day after the Super Bowl.

Speaking of Troy Polamalu, he was named to the NFL’s all-decade team for the 2000s. Polamalu is the only current Steelers player selected to the 53-man team.
Linebacker James Harrison intercepted a pass by Tony Romo in the Pro Bowl last night and it helped secure the win for the AFC. It is always nice to see a Steelers player own someone from the Cowboys. You can see the replay of the interception below in the video below at the 1:39 mark.
Harrison explained to Scott Brown that his sack total was down in 2009 because he was blitzing less and dropping into coverage more during the season.

Johnstown’s Andres Taylor scored a unanimous decision victory over William Bailey on Friday at the Pittsburgh Hilton. There were several current and former Steelers in attendance as well to watch him fight including head coach Mike Tomlin.
The Steelers have yet to make contact with restricted free agent Willie Colon or his agent Joe Linta. The Steelers are still likely in the evaluation process before deciding what type offer they will tender Colon with.
Steelers.com has posted the post season interview with return man Stefan Logan. Logan talks about what he sees in his future for the Steelers and grades his performance.
Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor and linebacker James Farrior are working with renowned trainer Tom Shaw and three Florida State draft prospects down in Florida. I hope Shaw has a fountain of youth pool.
The weekly Ed Bouchette's Steelers chat transcript is up on PPG. Bouchette says he voted for Heath Miller, Jeff Reed and LaMarr Woodley for the Pro Bowl. He also thinks the Steelers will try to re-sign free safety Ryan Clark.

Giants co-owner John Mara said on Tuesday that he was resigned to an uncapped season in 2010 and thought the union and owners might be moving further apart in talks toward a new labor agreement. Mara went on to say that he still had hope that a lockout could be averted.

Steelers GM and Director of Football Operations Kevin Colbert sat down with Bob Labriola from Steelers.com for part one of a candid interview.
It looks as if the Steelers will be able to keep executive and salary cap guru, Omar Khan, as Green Bay Packers director of football operations John Schneider has been chosen as the new general manager of the Seattle Seahawks, league and team sources said.
Even though the Steelers will keep Khan, defensive back coach Ray Horton could be the next defensive coordinator of the University of Houston after interviewing with the school last Friday.

Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, gives several reason why the Steelers need to re-sign kicker Jeff Reed. Reed can become an unrestricted free agent March 1 and the Steelers can use either a franchise or transition tag on him or get him signed to a new contract.
The Toledo Blade has a great story on Carlee Roethlisberger, the younger sister of Big Ben. Carlee has been a key contributor for the 13th-ranked Lady Oklahoma Sooners.
Steelers free agent Ryan Clark talks about the factors that led to the Steelers missing the playoffs on the Scott Van Pelt radio show on ESPN. Clark also was on First Take with Skip Bayless as well and they debated if the Vikings ran up score on Cowboys.

Tim Graham of ESPN has a short article on new offensive line coach Sean Kugler. Graham reports the Bills offensive-line woes in 2009 weren't Kugler's fault.
The Steelers have not yet named a new special teams coach and the Redskins Danny Smith might stay with the Redskins and former Bills ST coach Bobby April might be waiting for the biggest offer. The Steelers have been in talks with both, but to what true extent is not yet known.

Here is a promo for the show that starts this February. truTV and NFL Films will provide unprecedented, exclusive access to what really goes on behind the scenes of professional football. The series, which premieres Monday, Feb. 8, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), will follow the action from draft day to the Super Bowl, showing football fans what happens beyond the playing field. Sounds like a must see for the offseason blues.

Zaxby's has released some new commercials featuring Steelers Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw. Speaking of Bradshaw, new Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has admitted to kicking Bradshaw in the head while with Buffalo. Maybe that is why Terry seems to have a screw loose these days. The video of the incident is below.
