I meant to get this up the other day, but in case you missed it, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger recently sat down for a one on one interview with ESPN reporter and former Steeler running back Merril Hoge. In the interview Roethlisberger talked about the recent restructure of his contract, the potential loss of restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace and is recent meeting with new offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
Hoge asked Roethlisberger about why he decided to restructure his contract and Ben replied, "Well I wanted to help the team. Anything I can do to help clear

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark has never been shy about letting his feelings known through the media and always jumps at the chance to battle his nemesis Skip Bayless, who is notorious for reading into comments made by players. Such was the case Monday morning when Clark phoned into ESPN First Take to clarify his tweets he made on Twitter Friday after the reports surfaced that the New Orleans Saints had a long running bounty system in place under then defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.
During the interview, Clark made a point to distinguish the difference between whistle blowing and

If you watched the Kentucky Wildcats versus the Ole Miss Rebels basketball game on Saturday, you probably caught the shot of Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who was sitting court-side. Tomlin has been spotted at their basketball games before in the offseason and is real close reportedly to Joker Phillips, the Kentucky head football coach and defensive coordinator Rick Minter, who Tomlin coached under when he was at the University of Cincinnati. Tomlin was photographed with the Kentucky basketball team and their head coach John Calipari following their shoot around and Calipari posted

We all remember the famous Coca-Cola commercial featuring Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Joe Greene begrudgingly receiving an icy cold bottle of Coke from a child fan and throwing the boy his jersey after he gulps it down. Well, 32 years later and Mean Joe Green will be back in another commercial that will air prior to the Super Bowl and it will be a knockoff of his famous Coke commercial that will promote the Downy Unstopables.
The commercial will reportedly air during NBC’s Super Bowl pregame show, between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Greene will reprise his

Former Steelers great Jerome Bettis showed up in the latest Papa John pizza commercial on Sunday that was a promo for the Super Bowl XLVI Coin Toss Experience. Peyton Manning also has a cameo as the referee that pokes fun of the Thanksgiving coin toss debacle against the Detroit Lions back on on November 26, 1998.
The Benstonium crew already has a Ace Ventura spoof out of the missed kick by Billy Cundiff in the AFC Championship game. This time it is "Laces out, Sam", instead of "Laces out, Dan." This of course would make Cundiff, Ray Finkle and Sam Koch, Dan Marino. Too funny.

The Baltimore Ravens lost to the New England Patriots 23-20 in the AFC Championship game as Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff shanked a 32-yard field-goal wide left with with just 15 seconds left in regulation that would have tied the game and likely sent in into overtime.
One Ravens fan did not take the loss very well as you will see in the Youtube video below and went into full blown freak-out mode. He tells everyone to get out of his house and cusses Cundiff, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and even quarterback Joe Flacco. The video is quite entertaining to us Steelers fans I must admit.

The Pittsburgh Steelers offseason has already been a pretty busy one with Art Rooney II making his thoughts known on the 2011 season and the announcement Friday that offensive coordinator Bruce Arians would not be returning for the 2012 season. we have also had several players signed to future contracts as news filler in addition.
Luckily linebacker James Harrison gave us something on the lighter side to post about today on his Facebook page. In the video you can see here, Harrison pulls up in his big black truck with a snow plow attached to the front and leans out the window to say, "It's the

We are starting to hear a few names that have visited the Pittsburgh Steelers facility for workouts as they prepare to expand their roster to 80 players for the offseason. None of these future contracts will be announced until after the season, but a source says that former TCU wide receiver Jimmy Young will be one of the early names to be announced as signing a future contract.
Young measured in at 6'0" at the 2011 NFL combine and weighed 204 lbs. His arms measured 31 3/8 and his hands measured 9 inches. He ran an unofficial 40 time of 4.50, had a vertical of 37 inches and a broad jump of 09'07".

It is December 23rd and that means that it is time once again to celebrate the anniversary of the Immaculate Reception. 39 years ago today the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Oakland Raiders 12-7 in the AFC divisional playoff game with one of the most famous plays in the history of the NFL at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh. The date was December 23rd, 1972 and the 4th down play featured a pass intended for running back Frenchy Fuqua from quarterback Terry Bradshaw that was deflected backwards up into the air after Raiders safety Jack Tatum hit Fuqua just as the ball arrived. Running back Franco

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sat down last week with James Brown from CBS Sports to discuss the current state of the league, the danger of concussions, HGH testing and of course Tim Tebow. He was also asked about Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison and Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh in light of their recent suspensions. Below is the video of the interview and the transcript of the questions asked about Harrison, along with the answers from Goodell.
JB: James Harrison, now suspended, repeat if you will, offender. Now I hope that is not too strong of title or label

The 2011 Pittsburgh Steelers Christmas carol videos are beginning to be posted on steelers.com and today the first of four videos is now up. It opens with head coach Mike Tomlin giving Christmas greetings to all Steelers fans.
The Steelers defensive linemen open up the carol singing by performing "Winter Wonderland" and Chris Hoke steals the show as usual with Ziggy Hood a close second. They also get help from defensive line coach John Mitchell, but Casey Hampton is nowhere to be found. The tight ends are up next with a very off key rendition of "Sleigh Ride" and the specialist follow them with

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has apparently helped changed the life of a Cleveland Browns fan. Yes, the man suspended on Tuesday for one game for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, might have helped a person by leveling him 6 years ago.
Bill Lubinger, of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, wrote tonight that the man that Harrison body slammed during a 2005 Christmas Eve game against the Browns, is now sober and has turned his life around.
The drunk Browns fan in question, Nathan Mallet, ran out on the field during the Steelers 41-0 blowout of the Browns in

Oh joy, the NFL has released a new video that shows new examples of legal and illegal hits on defenseless players. The seven-minute video, narrated by NFL Vice President of Officiating Carl Johnson, views more like something that the Iraqi Information Minister put out years ago.
In the video, Johnson tries to show how players on defense are to lower their target when hitting a receiver. Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark is featured as a player delivering an illegal hit on Baltimore Ravens tight end Ed Dickson several few weeks ago. On the flip side, Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace is

Jamie Dukes tries to somewhat defend the hit by linebacker James Harrison on Colt McCoy Thursday night, but does not do a very good job in my opinion. Dukes really has become gun shy lately giving his opinion and you can really tell in this piece.
The league has explained to Mike Florio why the hit on McCoy by Harrison will likely earn him a pretty good fine and possibly even a suspension.
Here is the sit down that Michael Irvin had with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger prior to the Thursday game to discuss his injuries through the years and how he wants to go down in franchise history.
