That\’s all I can tell you at this time.” Pitts was also scheduled to have workouts in other cities and the Steelers likely just wanted to see him up close for future reference.

Wide receiver Terrell Owens agreed to terms with the Bengals on a one-year deal on Tuesday. This does not bode well for receiver Antonio Bryant who was signed for $28M and four years earlier in the offseason. He is rumored to have a bone on bone issue with knee. Jim Wexell has a snapshot article up on rookie outside linebacker Thaddeus Gibson who had to miss some spring workouts because neither he nor his class at Ohio State had graduated yet. Steelers assistant coach Jerry Olsavsky helped Gibson stay in shape and up to speed.

A few days ago Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall said he thinks quarterback Byron Leftwich will start week one in this interview on ESPN First Take with Michelle Bonner. Mendenhall spends the off-season dancing to stay conditioned and was profiled in Pittsburgh Magazine in the August issue.
