Steelers DE Cameron Heyward Thinks Late Block By Browns T Joe Thomas Was ‘Dirty’

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward injured an ankle late in the 31-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns and after the game he accused Browns left tackle Joe Thomas of illegally chop blocking him.

According to Scott Brown of ESPN.com, Heyward called Thomas’ block with 3:56 left in the game, “dirty”.

Heyward, who laid on the field injured for nearly a minute after the play in question was over, quickly jumped to his feet and gave Thomas quite an earful on his way to the Steelers sideline. Thomas seemed to try to extend a hand to Heyward as he exited the field but the Steelers defensive end wanted nothing to do with him at that point.

Heyward would later return to the game.

Prior to Sunday’s game, Steelers nose tackle Steve McLendon accused the Browns of chop blocking him illegally three times during the Week 1 meeting between the teams.
