2015 Salary Cap

Steelers Salary Cap: Looking Ahead At The Golson And Coates Rookie Contracts

We’ve already examined what the rookie contract will look like for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree after he was drafted Thursday night in the first-round of the 2015 NFL Draft and now that two more players were added Friday night, we will look ahead at the four-year deals they both will be signing.

As for cornerback Senquez Golson, who was drafted in the second-round Friday night, his rookie contract should total out at around $3.791 million and include a signing bonus of roughly $1.017 million. His 2015 salary cap charge should come in at just over $689,000 once the contract is signed, sealed and delivered to the NFLPA.

As for wide receiver Sammie Coates, who was drafted Friday night in the third-round, his rookie contract should total out at just over $2.8 million and include a signing bonus just north of $549,000. His 2015 cap charge based on those estimates will be a little more than $572,200.

Both Golson and Coates are unlikely to be signed until sometime in June and as soon as their deals are made official, I will pass along the final numbers to you along with the cap charges for all four years of the contract.
