Running back Rashard Mendenhall has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance Sunday night versus the Chargers. Let's hope this is the first of many more to come.

The Steelers came in second, up from 4th last year, in the America’s Favorite Football Team poll run by Harris Interactive. The Cowgirls were #1. Perhaps they slipped since the embarrassing loss on Sunday to the Broncos.

The Sporting News has named the city of Pittsburgh the Best Sports City in it's 16th Annual Best Sports Cities issue. Here is the complete list rankings.

ESPN.com AFC North Blogger James Walker has a great piece on rookie wide receiver Mike Wallace. Wallace said there was never a strong indication Pittsburgh would draft him.
